Yay! Congrats :)) hopefully we'll be able to meet in person.

Howdy all! I'm new! Although I've been lurking here a bit checking out the website. I'm really excited that I got into Fresno State for Fall 2021 Nursing Program! I was on the alternate list at first, but within a week I was accepted into the program. I can't wait to meet all my new co-hort/classmates!

Does anybody know what steps to take after we've been accepted? I know they said they would email us about the next steps needed, like immunizations, but I still haven't heard anything from them so I was wondering if anybody has heard anything from the School of Nursing.

About a month before the start of the semester you will start receiving emails. They will help you get registered for boot camp and orientation and start to send you information on the things you will need to get done (I.e. vaccinations, physical examination, background, drug screening ect.). We did all of this via zoom last semester, but hopefully you will get to do it in person boot camp!

I suggest that you just enjoy your Summer and when you get the email just start knocking out the things on the check list. A few of the requirements are time sensitive like the TB test (you can't have it done too early), but they will give you all the information you need.

I attached the checklist that we got last semester as a heads up. Yours shouldn't be too different. I don't recommend doing any of these until you hear from the school and get your cohort specific list. There may be different requirements.

Congrats!!

Is anyone local to the area? Perhaps we can arrange a meet up at a Starbucks or something. I live in Fresno and would love to meet up if at all possible!

@skb_86 I am local! I live in Clovis, and will also be attending nursing school at FSU in the fall! Do you have Instagram or facebook to where we can message and share our phone numbers? My full name is Emma Champlin!

we can get acquainted with one other and so that we can update and ask any questions to each other about the process.

There are two ways to create a special area for your cohort, that are Terms-of-Service approved.

One is to create a facebook page.  This link is allowed to be posted.

The other is to create a "Club" within the site, by clicking on the Breakroom link (upper left-hand corner, in the yellow bar) and in the green area, click Start a Breakroom Club.

Any other references or links posted are not TOS-approved, and will be removed.

We wish you success in your Nursing program!
