Now now... There are nice parts of every rural city surrounding Fresno. And you can actually still afford a house here. That’s the difference. The Bay Area regular people = renters for life or mommy and daddy gifted you their house they bought in 1970 with Grammy and Grandpas down payment assistance. That’s how my teacher cousins have their house in San Jose. ?

Oh for sure there was really nice parts of Fresno, Sanger, I guess you can say Bethel from like Church to Annadale was nice due to that being where the nice strip mall was and the high school, and Fresno you got like near Fresno State, Tower can be debatable, River Park, etc.
My dad lives in the country in Clovis (think like Herndon off 168 near Clovis Community) and my mom used to live in Sanger off Bethel, aside from the lack of internet at my dads, both are/were very nice. I actual miss that Sanger house.

LOL! don't knock hand me downs! LOL!! Its hard to survive in the bay now, everything is sooo expensive! and you are correct, there are nice parts of every rural city, with that being said, tell me, what is so nice about Chowchilla?? I would really like to know??!! I think the home prices in CC are over inflated! not worth it at all! there is nothing there! the biggest employer are the two prisons, and that's it! oh, and Pedro's pizza isn't too bad. ?

I like the cultural mix of people and it just feels like there's way more to do there than where I am currently, which is Chowchilla. I'm here because I followed my toxic ex and wound up getting myself and two boys a decent apartment here so we'll stay for a bit till things open up again. I'm originally from Clovis. Went to Buchanan.
I was born and raised in Chowchilla.. it used to be a nice clean little town, but over the years has gotten run down my meth heads and gangs. We moved to Clovis about 6 years, my husband is from here. We love it, such a great little town. My son went to Buchanan

Chowchilla is like Porterville. People are bored, so drugs become the norm to get through their life. Too many gang activities every where. Its awful. I'm certain Clovis has almost zero crime. And def. no druggies.

Food... LOL. There’s some good food in Chowchilla, granted you can find the same stuff in Fresno.
Also I can’t feel sorry for people “surviving” in the Bay Area when they can just up and leave for a better cost of living. They choose to live there.

It's still a nice town. My son plays in the little league and I've made some nice mom friends and have a great church community. I actually prefer this town to Clovis simply because of my circumstances. I find this small town to be better suited for me. I'm a substitute teacher so it's nice to never be too far from my kids at any given time (whole town is like 2 miles long) and there's no traffic. I also like the buffer between my family in Clovis, they can be a bit much....

You're kidding right? I used to nanny for a doctor in my early 20's after college and his wife used meth (She was a former beauty queen and found herself a bad boy boyfriend). Doctor kicked her out, she went off the deep end and punched a neighbor in the face who was trying to prevent her from hurting the other nanny so....No, it's in the wealthy areas as well.

What church? We used to go to Chowchilla Family Worship and they were like family! I am so glad you have made some good friends and found a church there, sounds like you have a good support system for you and your boys. My sister still lives there so we go visit once in awhile.

The Catholic Church. I was raised Catholic. I consider myself non-denominational now but it is just is where I feel most comfortable.

Ya being from Sanger, my parents literally had to hire someone to take me home before I got my license, I lived too close to take the bus and I was too afraid to walk home.
