Is it just FSU grads or any university post baccalaureate?

Any post baccalaureate, it’s only post baccalaureate or established Fresno state students able to apply in Fall.

Thanks for the info. I had no idea

I’m probably going to be crucified for saying this but....

What’s also sad is a  “B” from 2006  (thirty or forty somethings can relate to this ancient year) in general ED in person learning probably equates to the “A” someone received  in 2019 in a general ED online class.

Sorry.

I said it.

I guess my biggest issue is that GPA is being equated to intellect essentially. Like if you ask any professor I’ve had or friends, they always call me a brain, but I have a horrible GPA. I went through a lot of family and health BS in college and was just happy to graduate. What is worse is they make it impossible for you to prove yourself or make it up because they won’t take repeats outside of a D or F, and if you do take multiple qualifying classes for a requirement they take the first one you did. At least this is Fresno State. Like I’m going to pay out of pocket, take my damn money.

I agree. Some very intelligent people have it incredibly rough and it’s a miracle they graduated at all. Some B and C students are the most well rounded people you will ever meet. Some of these performance based nursing schools are going to admit brilliantly book smart people who have zero social skills and cannot relate to people along with professional cheaters amongst the legitimately well rounded intelligent students they extend admission to.

When will we know if we got accepted... this waiting is killing me ?

At this point I’m gearing my ego up to be crushed and savagely rejected from another 2 year junior college in a lesser desirable city of the state of California ?

I'm one of those weirdos that actually likes Fresno. I like the cultural mix of people and it just feels like there's way more to do there than where I am currently, which is Chowchilla. I'm here because I followed my toxic ex and wound up getting myself and two boys a decent apartment here so we'll stay for a bit till things open up again. I'm originally from Clovis. Went to Buchanan.

I left for a decade and came back. I agree with you, I like it too! I’m not planning on moving again.  It’s not a bad place (for those who spend enough time here to love it’s quirks)  That said, it’s ego crushing to be rejected by a school here, ya know? Not like Fresno is exactly Malibu or San Diego CA where schools are notoriously competitive.  It’s Fresno.

I wouldn’t take it too hard since if you consider their method of choosing applicants isn’t based on anything but luck. We all have the same odds 20-25% of being chosen. That’s why we have to cast our nets far and wide. Get on LVN waitlists and apply with the rest of the cattle call.

Since this is my first year applying, desperation hasn’t set in. I’m sure after 3 years of no luck I might get anxious but I also plan on getting on Merced/Madera LVN waitlist too, which are about 3 years long. So either way, I’ll get in somewhere in time.

To be honest staying with family in Tennessee and knowing if I don’t get in I need to relocate to OC, where a studio is like $1700+. Unless I could stay here in Nashville (where the cost of living is similar to Fresno and nurses start at $25), Fresno is the best option, and it’s really not that terrible, my coworkers talk about how terrible Fresno is (many of them are not even from California originally), it’s not hip or cool, but good cost of living for California and a 3 hour drive from both NorCal and SoCal, also the food is amazing. I’m missing the food. Also would rather take heat over humidity, tornado warnings, being snowed in (granted that was a rare occurrence here), revolving your life around impending rain, etc. Tennessee is lovely but the weather is just horrible.

I’m thankful to be in my situation, can have a decent job while waiting possibly years to get into FCC. It’s all I can really afford.
