Starting a thread for applicants in 2021 year.

It doesn’t make sense for them to say under the application evaluation status that your either eligible or ineligible and then use the term unselected and I thought EVERYONE gets evaluated and then those who do have everything done at eligible to be in the lottery. I am in no way saying you didn’t have everything done but it’s strange for them not even evaluate you. Something if off if it’s over and it hasn’t even changed to eligible or ineligible for a lottery that’s over.
The reason is because they’re decided to do lottery with everyone and after people are selected to evaluate those people’s applications. They’re doing it that way because of the overwhelming number of applicants. Some people that are selected might not meet qualifications and then they’ll pull someone else from alternates/pool of applicants to evaluate. Ms. Hoff spent 30 mins on phone explaining this to me.

Hmmm. I wonder if it’s that way with nursing applications too? Some peoples have changed to eligible already, some hasn’t though so maybe not?

As far as I know the reason it takes so long for the nursing lotto (February 5th-April 19th). They evaluate probably up until the day they draw the lotto.

Yes it might happen the same way for nursing lotto. Ms. Hoff said they'll boot out non-qualified people that are selected and call/email people who were "unselected" because more spots opened up.

So even though the lotto may have had 1100 applicants only 800 may actually be eligible so our real odds are more like 25%. Not bad if you ask me.

I'm now just wondering why the nursing application does not show these same details. It doesn't show how many times we've been in the lottery.

I think it’s because they actually take in consideration how many times you’ve been in the lottery for the other programs, they do not for the nursing program, it’s basically a fresh start (as far as I know) every year. I somewhat feel the lotto could be rigged in some way though, but supposedly you get no better odds having have been a previous applicant than a first time applicant.

I see. I don't think your odds is better by having been in the lottery before. This will be my 5th time in the lottery.

This is your 5th time applying?? girl, you could have paid a little more money thru private school which prob. would have cost you $35k-$37k, but your income potential would have been double that when you become an RN making that money that you are missing out on making because you're waiting for Fresno City to allow you to be in their RN program! You are losing out on approx. $80k-$120k per year just by waiting when you could have been an RN 3 years ago. You are way too dedicated and loyal to this Fresno City program.
