Congratulations!
It will solely be your choice if you want to attend the ceremonies. It is not a requirement... but you already worked hard for it and joining with your fellow RNs is enough to satisfy atleast a bit of your hardship. An event of a lifetime, savor it!

You don't have to go and attend the ceremony, but passing the Boards is no trivial thing. If I were you, I would attend the Oath taking ceremony, this will be the only time when you can be with your fellow nurses and celebrate the milestone of being an RN. Afterwards, it's back to reality of finding that elusive nursing job....
RA 9173 Section 16. Oath. - All successful candidates in the examination shall be required to take an oath of profession before the Board or any government official authorized to administer oaths prior to entering upon the nursing practice.

You are not required to attend the oath-taking ceremony, but if you do not then you must make an appointment to take your oath before an official at PRC before your license would be issued.
That can be a real hassle.
Make it easy on yourself, attend the oath-taking ceremony.
thanks guys. coz i'd rather focus on looking for work ASAP than attending the oathtaking ceremony.

Taking the oath before the BON is needed before officially affixing the title RN after your name. Plus its a once in a lifetime pleasant experience...you deserve it...so cherish the moment don't let that day just slip away!!!! =)) CONGRATULATIONS!!!
During your registration in the PRC, you sign an Oath Taking Form duly notarized signed and stamped by the PRC, so that is the actual Oath taking... The ceremony is just for show...that is my understanding.

You are right. The oath taking ceremony is just a show, you are just there to stand and clap. No proof that you've attended the ceremony. The registration in PRC is more necessary because it's a requirement in getting and processing your license.
True! I believe that the CEREMONY is the question here and certainly is.
