freaking out about taking the nclex

Published

Hello Guys,

My test will be next monday which is the 9th, but I donot think I am ready for it. Honestly, I have not studied that much. Now, I am thinking if I should rescheduel for two more weeks. I am taking Kaplan, the thing is that if I take the exam on the original date then I may get the refund or repeat the class. If I take it later, I just wont get anything back. So, guys please give me some suggestions what to do to be prepared for this exam. I am not confident in me at all:crying2:. For these practice exams I have took, I only got 40%. Please let me know what I can do. Really appreciated, and good luck to all of you who are going to take this annoying exam!!

I used HURST online. Marlene is super awesome. I also used Kaplan q-bank for strategies. I took my NCLEX-PN yesterday and got the good pop-up. I definitely would recommend using this one. Hope all goes well for you. Keep us posted....

You need to practice Kaplan's Decision Tree. Is it included in your program? It will help you kick out the wrong answers even if you do not know a thing about the diseases or meds the question discusses.

I looked over the decision tree. its helpful but not with medication questions. Is there a good way to study medicine? I always got stucked on which medicine should be taken first, and what medicine should be taken with meals or without meals. my test is next wed, it seems too late...

Try to eliminate answers by looking for key words a good example are words like ALWAYS or NEVER answers with these words are usually wrong also look for key words in the question such as FIRST or PRIORITY these key words can help at least eliminate half of the possible answers. Also relax and remember all you need to pass is to answer more wrong right then wrong. 51% will tell the computer you have at least the minimum requirments met to be able to learn to be a safe nurse.

I just took the exam this morning at 8am. The computer shut off at 85. By noon, I used the Pearson trick to re-register, and it let me entered the credit card info. SO, that means I failed.

I need some tips to study for second time.

I have one more question, I am unable to scheduel the exam after I paid. Can anyone tell me why?

I failed to today no less.

I think we need a new ATT letter? as mine will expire by 45days, or we need to hear from the board of nursing on when we can re take it its 45-90 depending on state, nbscn or whatever said 45 so thats what im hoping for.

Thank u so much. I just got the new ATT and it stated 45 days which it's around the holidays. So depressed... But good luck on our second one!!!

haven't got my new ATT yet hope i dont have to wait 4 days again to get it from lasts time

Call them and let them email u

i got it by email first time it just took 4 days, dont know if caling will speed it up ill try tomorrow.

check out my post in the tips/tricks section maybe you can give me some advice?

I took the NCLEX Oct. 13 after receiving the ATT Sept. 29. I just answered the Silvestri Q and A for 2 weeks and thanked God I passed. The test stopped at question #90. But the funny thing is, I had at least 25 select all that apply, arrange in order, and 4 EKG interpretations. So go figure. NCLEX is getting harder. My other secret? I prayed the novena almost everyday until the day before the exam.
