A friend who is a CNA has my social & my RN license. He said he is starting a home health business but lied about making me an actual partner. He moved to Palm Springs & i'm 8 hours away in Santa Rosa. I told him not to use my license for his business but he's going to anyway. My livelihood is at stake. I will be in the dark about what's going on. I can't afford to be sued or lose my license. He will forge my signature on documents if he has to & im afraid once he starts the business he will cut me off & change his phone number & i have no idea what his new address will be or what he will name his business. This seems like forgery , fraud & identity theft at a state or federal level. I don't know how to protect myself at this point. I'm planning on calling the California state board for advice as well.

That's their problem (and their job; they have ways of finding people). And this guy is no "friend."

Alert the board of nursing and the social security administration as well as put a freeze on your credit reports

Time to call the Racket Squad, also known as the bunco unit and other names police departments dedicated to these situations are called.
But let us know if the California state board says it's OK for someone to steal your identity and start a fraudulent business based on impersonating a licensed professional.
Good luck!
