Hey all, has anyone been enrolled in or completed a program with the above consulting company. They’re based out of Florida and seems to have the same blended online/ 1 weekend per month model as Med Life institute. I’ve yet to see anything online not reviews or comments. Please share if you’ve heard of them.

Essential school of nursing is not fully accredited. It is “approved” still on probationary stage. There’s a difference between accredited and approved.
If you are considering going here, DO NOT!
This school is in several violations with the Florida BOE. They don’t teach you what you need in order to pass the boards. Just look at the beyond dismal passing rate for 2020 and 2021. It’s public record on the Florida DOH.
16.67 was the passage rate for 2021
20.00 for 2020.
The national average is 81-82 for first time test takers. Those scores aren’t even HALF!
Save your hard earned money and time and go to either an approved school with high passage rates or an accredited school.
Essential School of Nursing won’t be around by this time next year!
londonflo you are absolutely correct. However, they didn’t file to open a nursing program until 2018. Very strange. I have read this thread and wish I did before I enrolled in this catastrophic program. Everything you said was correct. Essential School of Nursing definitely is below subpar when it comes to the program as a whole and adequately preparing students to pass the NCLEX. That’s why their passage rates are so low. They don’t care! $17,000 per student for a nursing program where you pretty much have to teach yourself! There’s so much more to this story! Again, to anyone reading this, DO NOT go to this school! They will NEVER get accreditation and will end up getting shut down!

Somehow I got an email invitation to a recruitment webinar for Essential - Found-Path. The recruiters just kept stressing how easy it was to enroll, spend a year or two and BAM! you are an RN.
When I quoted the poor NCLEX rates on the discussion board, the response was "it is a new program". I looked up the regs for a new school, the director only needs to be on board for a month. Who can oversee an intensive curriculum to educate a future registered nurse in a month!
Please Florida RNs regain control of the nursing educational programs and approval to ensure great programs. As of now the Department of education might approve my dog to attend nursing school.

Or were they snookered and split ASAP?

The teachers are RN, NP, and MD that teach for essential. Yes they give you alot of information to study in order to be successful. This program may not be for everyone but I do know of 2 people that were successful and they are Rns that attended this school. I also have 2 more friends that are in the program now yes it is alot of studying and alot of information that is given out and you are expected to know the information they are not going to hold your hand. Of course if you continue to fail the courses you will be dismissed like any other program. I'm not saying that it is a great program all I'm saying is that it is not a scam school if you meet the requirements you will be able to sit NCLEX. Your study habits and the work you put in is on you to study and pass NCLEX they give you the material to study and go over it in a lecture class it is your job to go thew the material after it is taught.

My coworker is in the program now and she said she can’t say enough good things about the program. She’s an LVN that challenged the board so maybe the self teaching is up her ally. I graduated from an LVN program in which I pretty much had to teach myself and it was $36,000. I’d gladly pay $17,000 to get My RN; I’m just waiting to see how it works out for her while I complete my prerequisites.

There is NO teacher that is a MD there. You said you did not go to the school, so how would you come to that conclusion? They’re RNs and one NP. That’s it. You were not enrolled in the school so how would you even know if it’s a scam or not? Did your friends tell you how the school is having people fly back down to Miami to retake an exit exam that’s not even a graduation requirement in order to have their names sent to the Florida BON by the school? Due to the school being afraid of the Florida BON seeing them for who they really are with the subpar NCLEX passage scores? How the school is purposely failing students on their “clinical rotations” and charging them an extra $1000+ to come back down to Miami to do it over? I want to hear from the people who ACTUALLY graduated from the program with NO PROBLEM. Not those who are “friends” and hearing about the program through the grapevine!

Did your coworker actually graduate? Of course she’s saying great things about the program now. The school’s faculty is super nice while you’re in the program because they want to keep collecting your money. But once you get to the finish line, that’s when they show their true colors! They sent people from one cohort home because they didn’t have all their prerequisites completed. Now that’s definitely a red flag. Any legitimate nursing school WOULD NOT enroll any students who haven’t completed their prerequisites. They even had the audacity to start offering “pre-requisites” for the program two months before they were scheduled to graduate! The so-called president of the school lied and told students that Essential didn’t accept CLEP and when students voiced their concerns all of a sudden he said OK we’ll accept them. Knowing damn well it takes about a month to complete CLEP in it’s entirety and the students wouldn’t have time to complete them all. And had the audacity to charge $250/class and it wasn’t even a class. Those classes aren’t even transferable! Essential School of Nursing are money hungry and prey on students who weren’t born in this country because they’re desperate to become RNs. Many of them have been LVNs for a long time and never had the opportunity to do a RN program. They saw Essential as a way out, only for them to be sold a dream! Many are STILL waiting to take their boards, months, even over a year after they graduated from that scam school but that’s a whole nother topic!

Does the school use ATI or HESI for the exit exam?
