hello everyone, i came across this looking through my mountains of papers left from school, a classmate found this and printed a copy out for everyone in my class, so i wanted to share it too!! maybe you have seen it somewhere before, but hopefully it will at least make ya smile!! ;) and school does end eventually!! :p

lord: i know we go through this every day but please give me the knowledge as to why i actually wanted to go to nursing school. lord, give me the strength to make it through those boring three hour lectures without falling asleep. lord, please give me the patience to make it through twelve hour clinicals with instructors that can't just give me the right answer and on the same note, give the nurses the ability to remember what it was like to be a student and give us just a little more respect. lord, give me the endurance to read all the assigned readings and be able to remember it when i am taking a test with four right answers. lord, give my family and friends the ability to realize i am really on the edge of insanity. finally, lord, give me the vision to see that one day i will be a real nurse and i will never have to wear this ugly uniform again.---- author unknown

I came across this prayer last semester and my hubby (God bless him!) typed it out, put a flowery frame around it in Photoshop, printed it out and put it in a frame for my desk. It helps when I'm really questioning my motives, along with the picture of the scarecrow from The Wizard of Oz with the caption under it "If I only had a brain" !! Mary

Reading that prayer transported me instantly back to nursing school days even though I graduated in 1990!!! What a nightmare! Thanks for reminding me of how bad it was and how good I have it now!

i got this one off allnurse's a while ago...

23rd psalm for students

the lord is my shepherd, i shall not flunk

he keepeth me from lying down when i should be studying

he leadeth me beside the water cooler for a study break

he restores my faith in study guides

he leads me to better study habits

for my grades' sake.

yea, though i walk through the valley of borderline grades

i will not have a nervous breakdown

for thou art with me

my prayers and my friends, they comfort me

thou givest me the answer in moments of blankness

thou anointest my head with understanding

my test paper runneth over with questions i recognize.

surely passing grades and flying colours shall follow me

all the days of my examinations

and i shall not have to dwell in this exam hall forever.
