Hi! educ
I am a registered nurse from the Philippines. I would like to ask if it is possible to apply for registration as LPN in Canada. If so, what are the chances of having or not having to undergo SEC/CCA? Will my bachelor's degree be enough to meet the requirements for registration as LPN or will I have to do assessment/bridging prior to taking the exam for registration? Were there foreign RNs who tried this and got to immediately take the exam?

Nobody knows the answer to your question. Its up to the provincial college of nurses to assess your credentials and make a determination.

If you are an RN why wouldn't you apply for registration as an RN?

This thread is asking about issues that are not common to the average working Canadian nurse (or Canadian graduate looking for work), therefore it should be in the International Forum. It will be moved.
The section of your post shelyksu that caught my eye is this one: "what are the chances of having or not having to undergo SEC/CCA?" Why are you so reluctant to prove your ability to perform the work of an RN or LPN? This sort of question always sets off alarm bells. The purpose of SEC/CCA is to ensure that the person wishing to be registered is capable of fulfilling the skill-based, knowledge-based and ethical responsibilities of that classification. It's to protect the public, who pay for the services of the RN/LPN and deserve to know that these people are competent to do so safely. So why the desire to avoid it?
