Foreign RN planning to apply as a LPN in Canada
Hi! educ I am a registered nurse from the Philippines. I would like to ask if it is possible to apply for registration as LPN in Canada. If so, what are the chances of having or not having to undergo SEC/CCA? Will my bachelor's degree be enough to meet the requirements for registration as LPN or will I have to do assessment/bridging prior to taking the exam for registration? Were there foreign RNs who tried this and got to immediately take the exam?

i am also interested to know what hospital sponsors H1B..Plenty of nurses from the Philippines had already gone to the US through H1B but I think last year, the immigration stopped issuing that visa to nurses. Anyway, what hospital is that? I want to apply on that hospital. I am Critical Care Nurse.

IEN(RN) eligible to be registered as a LPN in Canada?
Hi, I am a Registered Nurse from the Philippines. I just would like to ask what are the chances of getting eligibility to take CPNRE once assessed by the College. I applied for assessment as a RN in Canada but unfortunately, they are requiring me to take CCA because my education did not meet their requirements though I graduated BSN here in my country. If I apply for registration as a LPN, do you think my credentials as a BSN graduated can be useful and become eligible to take the said exam?

Can somebody help me?
Hello there! I am a nurse here in the Philippines. I just want to ask if foreign OR nurse are in demand in the US? I am currently assigned in a medical-surgical ward and would really want to be transferred in the OR if there are great job opportunities for OR nurses in the US because I noticed that most foreign employers want to hire nurses on special areas such as ICU and ER. I wonder if OR is also included.. Thanks for reading my thread! I hope someone can help me with this.

Do You Hate Being A Nurse?
Do I hate being a nurse?Of course not. I love being a nurse. I love to take care of people and see how they recover from their illness. It's just the set up that makes things difficult.. I am a nurse in a medical-surgical ward with a maximum of 32 beds..On morning and afternoon shifts, there are three of us who work..At night, there are only two nurses..No matter how much I wanted to give the kind of care my patients deserve, I just couldn't do it because of our nurse-patient ratio..We don't practice primary nursing. Instead, we observe functional nursing so there is no total patient care.. But what can I do, this is my environment and I have to bear with it. All I can do is to give my very best in my work. How I wish I could work in a hospital wherein the ideal nurse-patient ratio is observed. I know being a nurse is a tough job. It's not all about carrying out the doctor's order but most importantly, it's all about being a patient advocate. It's really fulfilling to see and hear my patients thank me for the care that I have given them and that's what really matters!I will never regret that I chose this profession although a lot of people in my country look down on nurses and think that we are just maids..For me, nursing is the most noble profession!

I am totally bothered..pls.read.thanks
Hi there.. I am a nurse here in the philippines. i applied for nclex-california last march 2007. last week, i got a mail from CA BON. i thought it was eligibility form but unfortunately, it was a letter stating that there was a problem with my transcript of records and RLE grades. so it simply means, i am not yet eligible to take nclex and i need to resend those mentioned papers for review again. what bothers me so much is that, i still don't know when i can be eligible to take nclex. what is the maximum amount of time for the CA BON to review again my papers from the time they receive my papers? If there aren't problems with my papers, how long will i wait until i become eligible? i've been waiting for four months already and definitely in vain. I hope I won't be waiting for months again coz it's really agonizing..I even stopped working to give way for NCLEX and now i am not yet eligible. Please can someone at least give me hope and enlightenment?

I am confused..
Now I am really confused..When I attended my NCLEX review today, our reviewer who happens to be the owner of the review center I am enrolled at again told us that CGFNS may then be required for all foreign nurses to take before obtaining a visa screen certificate..She kept on convincing us not to bypass CGFNS because it may soon become one of the requirements before one can be issued with a visa screen certificate..As what I have known, one can be given with that after passing 2 exams CGFNS/NCLEX and IELTS..I really don't know what she is trying to imply but I am really confused and a little bit worried/scared after hearing what she said..I just don't understand her and her predictions..She even told us that a lot of foreign nurses are bypassing CGFNS and with that, the CGFNS people may make new laws to require all foreign nurses to pass it before working in the US or shall I say passing NCLEX, CGFNS and IELTS..Such a financial burden for me...Grrrhhh...That's why right now, I really don't know whether I should still take CGFNS when in fact my state does not require CGFNS..I am completely bothered with that she said..Please do enlighten me...Thanks..

Should I take the CGFNS?
Hi there.I'm glad this website exists..I do have a lot of questions that need to be answered. I am bothered whether I should take CGFNS or not. Some people say that I should because it would be a good preparation for my NCLEX. As far as I've known, I can still work in certain US states even without taking and passing it, right?Actually, I , myself don't want to take it because I am applying for the state of California and CGFNS is not required there. But there are people who tell me to take it because soon it could possibly become one of the requirements for US visa..How true is it?Is it really necessary to take CGFNS?Is it a plus factor for visa screen? Please help. Thanks a lot.
