hi nurses!!! i am a registered nurse from the philippines, finished my BSN there as well, i am currently residing here in chicago. i understand that the first step for nclex application for illinois is to register/purchase the credentials evaluation services or CES by CGFNS. did that, so CGFNS is currently waiting for some documents from my school and licensing authority back in the philippines. i am soooo excited to take my test that i log-in to my cgfns account like everyday!!!
so my questions are:
hoping to get some information re my concerns... this is my first post by the way, if that matters...
THANK YOU...

i'm about to apply for my CGFNS CES too.. I'm here in WASHINGTON,but decided to get my NCLEX via VERMONT...
:)
jr, here's my email [email protected] i think newbies like us are not allowed to PM yet until we post 15 reply participation. Be sure you have your relatives follow up your documents and send them via LBC or Fed Ex in the Phils. be sure the write the school name and school address in the LBC envelope as the sender. In regards to the verification of license form for the PRC to fill up usually they are kind of slow.
hi katz, did you go to a review center or just self study?

i had the same scenario, im from ca but had my rn education in the philippines. i got denied also by the board of nursing. i was advised to take medical surgical nursing and obstestric again to qualify for the nclex-rn examination, meaning i need to go back to school. my analyst told me to contact the nursing director in the schools they provided to determine if credits can be given for the theory and clinical practice i completed in my bsn programs or if i still need to take additional course for me to attend to the subjects they provided. (prolly it will take 1-2 years!!!!). so as a back up plan, im planning to take nclex-pn here in ca. but i'm also considering to take nclex in illionois. so do we really need to take toefl exam? and can you enlighten me with the
redentials evaluation services or ces by cgfs? thanks!

Chotep, if you're applying to Illinois, yes they require an English proficiency exam. They have specifically written TOEFL in their instructions but I heard that they recently start accepting IELTS too.
Illinois accepts either the CGFNS CES Professional Report (no CGFNS exam; $335) or the CGFNS CP (with CGFNS exam and English proficiency exam; $445).
The CGFNS CP also requires applicants to apply directly to TOEFL or IELTS. So, those are the only venues for you to take an English exam.

Hi
Does anyone know what happens once CGFNS sent the CES report to the Nursing Board?
Thank you! :-)

As long as you have sent application to BON then they will decide whether you are eligible to sit NCLEX and usually let you know to register with Pearsonvue who will send ATT once they get approval from BON.
