World Registration

Published

Good day everyone:):):)... I am an RN here in the Philippines and luckily passed my NCLEX exam March of 2011 with the help of this site. i am planning to endorse my licensure by examination from Ca to TX since I read from the site that this state aside from Arizona dont need SSN to get a temporary license. Im currently here in the Philippines and dont have yet any SSN. my question is... What are the other requirements needed for me to submit aside from the form that is needed to fill out, fingerprint, and VOL?? Do i need to have CES/CGFNS Cert??? anyone out there who share the same dilemma with me??? i badly need your help since im running out of time. my NCLEX result will expire next year...:nailbiting::down::banghead:

Thank you so much and input will be greatly appreciated...;)

Have you looked at the BON website? Usually you will need CES report and also check because a lot of states now require US SSN including AZ

Thank you so much Silverdragon... I already have exhausted all of my resources just to look for a state who dont need SSN...:bookworm: errrrr.. and if im not mistaken TX is one of them... My fault is, i did not endorse my licesnure by examination before to Vermont since they just ammend their policy that they will need SSn effective may 15, 2012... I checked TX BON web but their instructions are too vague... it was stated there from their requirements that you need VOL or a CES report im kinda bit confuse right now... Here is the elig requirement that I just read from TX BON web

For Internationally licensed nurses: If you have a nursing license from a country other than the United States, you must request a verification of licensure from that state, country, province or territory. Verification must come directly from the licensing authority. We will also accept a license verification contained in a Credential Evaluation Service (CES) Full Education course-by-course report from the Commission on Graduates of Foreign Nursing Schools (CGFNS), the Educational Records Evaluation Service, Inc. (ERES) or the International Education Research Foundation, Inc. (IERF). The verification of licensure must be contained in the CES and must have been validated within one year of the date the application for endorsement filed with the Texas Board of Nursing. You may access this service by going to one of the following websites: CGFNS International â€" Global Credibility in Credentials Evaluation, Educational Records Evaluation Service (ERES): We Evaluate Foreign Academic Credentials or IERF - International Education Research Foundation, Inc..

I also find this lnk helpful if you are looking for a state who dont need any SSN>

Hi PATTYTY! i have the same problem as yours. I passed the CA NCLEX-RN last May 2009. It's more than 3years now. I thought i cannot endorse it anymore in any state, but my friend told me that i can still endorse it in Texas if it's not more than 4years old. and luckily it's just more 3 1/2 years since i passed the exam. so I'm planning to endorse it now, right away because I'm running out of time. so my question is..if you can help me, do you know that when we passed the NCLEX if they give us a license number? because I don't remember if they sent me. as far as i remember I only got a letter from CA BON saying that i passed the exam. and when we passed the exam does it mean that we're now a Registered Nurse in Cali? thanks

You can check on-line (free) by typing your name on the CA BON website and see if your name is on the RN list, if not, then, most likely, you're not a CA RN yet. Until you can provide the CA BON with a SSN, then you have A license to endorse over, otherwise, there's no license to be transferred.

I'm not sure of the endorsement process into TX, but maybe it might work, but you still need to pass all the minimum requirements (college transcripts evaluated, passing of certain English exams, possible other courses needed to taken, etc. before it's accepted.)

Have you read thru all the minimum requirements TX needs in the application process? Google TX Board of nursing and look under the "International applicants" section. Good luck, kabayan!

Like steppybay said, you need to have a SSN for CA BON to issue you your RN license. Just because you passed the NCLEX, does not mean you have the RN license. It just means you passed the test, but do not have the physical license.

Now, if you do have the SSN for CA BON, you will just need to endorse your CA license over to TX.

Oh, and another thing, on the TX BON, it says: "Must have been employed as a registered nurse during the past four (4) years (unless you have taken and passed the appropriate RN examination within that time period)." source)

if you dont have enough experience as a paid and employed nurse (not as volunteer), they will let you go back to school thru a refresher course.
