For those of you who used uWorld and Passed!

Nursing Students NCLEX

Published

Hello everyone, I have a quick question to everyone who took uWorld and passed the NCLEX! Did it seem like all of the content that was on uWorld ended up being on the NCLEX? As in, if I just use all of the diseases, illnesses, etc from uWorld and expand on it to learn the treatments and all of the S&S, does that typically cover the majority of the "content" you see on the NCLEX or should I purchase Hurst for a more in-depth review of basic nursing content? I have my ATI book so I can use it as a reference to gather more information on uWorld content. Just hate to drop $325 on Hurst when all of the content I pretty much learned on uWorld.

thanks in advance,

- Kris

Hurst has great review content. ... you can pay 300 for online review if you want. NCLEX is different for everyone. But for me and what i experienced was a lot of same STYLE questions.... not content. Content is either you know it or you dont.

I personally used hurst online review 80% of my study and uworld i used the last 4 days of my study... i honestly wish i used uworld more so i could gain speed on answering my questions... but hurst was def not a waist of money in my eyes. I also worked from nclex mastery app... i really like all of them. And i used kaplan testing strategy and delegation book (only for clarification)

I studied a total of 3 weeks. Pass nclex first time. I took it yesterday and had my results literally 24 hours later.....

What were your scores like on uWorld when you used it and what did you utilize from the NCLEX mastery app? I am planning on taking the NCLEX in about 4 weeks or so, I currently have uWorld and im averaging about 65% and have taken around 400 questions. It seems like the majority of the questions im missing though are questions on specific disease processes that i've never really reviewed that's why I was curious as to if the NCLEX had a lot of "Content" on it.

SILVACH, did you buy the Kaplan program for $500, if not how did you get access to Kaplan?

I graduated last year, and did not take the NCLEX until yesterday for personal/family reasons. Anyways, 90% of the review I did was through uworld. I also reviewed some basics ----trachs, enteral and parenteral therapies, etc.--using the Saunders Nclex book. I then reviewed subjects such as EKG strip interpretation, COPD, MI, Addison's/Cushings, through youtube. RegisteredNurseRN has a great YouTube channel for the meat and potatoes (nursing based) of several major concepts, I could not recommend her enough! Each individual has their own way of learning, but so far I have been getting the "good pop up" -- so fingers crossed. Good luck!
