This may be a good idea, make this a single thread for recruiting notices. I'd imagine that they are sort of few and far between, but if I am willing to relocate to KC from MA I may not know of this hospital.

Thanks Wildcat!

Just a note, the AfterCollege website is notorious for posting jobs that don't actually exist. I went to one job fair a while ago where many new grads had printed out a job posting from AfterCollege, showed it to the recruiter, and the recruiter had no idea where it had come from--they had no new grad jobs and hadn't hired a new grad into the ER in years.

I think it's nice to let each other know about new grad opportunities, but it's probably best to focus on actual postings from the hospitals themselves. No matter what AfterCollege says, there are NOT a lot of new grad opportunities in California.

Hi Everyone,

I just want to share part of my story and give a little advise I wish I had known when I graduated last June 2008. Stay in your new job at least 2 years!!! I left after 5 months from a nice hospital job in SSU and wanted to try dialysis. I hated dialysis; love the patients; the company was extremely dysfunctional and abusive. I stayed 3 months. Now I have less that the desired 2 years most places require. I am now also competing with new grads as I have no probelm entering a new grad program. I have unemployed for almost 3 months. My mom is in assisted care and I can't really go to far away in case I am needed.

I am sooooo very sorry I ever left my 1st job. Now I am in a dead zone of not having enough experience in a speciality and being overqualified for smaller offices which only hire CMAs. I have wanted to be a nurse my entire life and feel I have really messed up my career and feel horrible.

So my advise: stick with the same job for 2 years and then move around.

Sorry the word is ADVICE not ADVISE. My brain got ahead of my fingers.

Ahhh, did not know that. Thanks. When I went on Aftercollege, I'd go to the website of the hospital they said had openings. Sometimes they did, sometimes they didn't...especially the ones who actually update thieir web sites. However, the same could be said about most job websites from my experience.
