:heartbeat hi, well here is my story. i wanted to share with the people that are about to take nclex rn. i just took mine and it stopped at 246 questions. i took the whole 6 hours alotted to me. my thoughts were that i truly failed it again... but i had confidence because: i was getting the questions at a critical thinking level. it was a dreadful 6 hours and, i had to work 12 hour shift after that. but i made it and, what helped me was that i strengthen my knowledge level by going over the basic knowledge material that every nurse should know: (i.e. med/surg, medicatiions...). the biggest help of all was the kaplan book that taught me how to answer the nclex questions. soooo, don't take your time for granted. study every chance you get. set aside approximately 3-4 hours a day to strengthen your knowledge level. read the kaplan book to show you how to answer the questions. if you are an lpn, then you have the knowledge. definitely read the kaplan book. i know they offer like a week long course too. god bless to all the people here that share in their compassion, patience, & commitment to people in need!!!
re taking my test for the 2nd time next friday...looking for all the luck and prayers....
i took the kaplan course this time around and definitely think it helps. my scores are all over the place though...they say in the q bank questions you should be scoring at least a 60 or higher. some days i get 60s, some days 70, some days 50s! i've even gotten so low as a 45 before! sigh...also the first time i studied all content, this time i'm doing mostly strategy and questions plus some content. i hope i'm doing it the right way!
oh and also...how did you guys do on your kaplan scores??
diagnostic 60%
readiness 68%
q bank average 58%
QT1 49
QT2 51
QT3 61
QT4 55
QT5 59
QT6 58
haven't taken QT7 yet.
this is going to be my second time around taking it but to be honest, i do feel a lot better going in this time than i did the first time. EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEK!!!!
:yeah:Gintran: *Missy sends lots of luck your way & support!!! You can do this. I am so glad that you are retaking sooner than later. :yelclap:The odds are in your favor. Remember, take your time & read the question carefully. Oh yes, DON'T forget to breathe!!! People get so nervous and don't notice that in order to think you need to take some deep breaths once in a while...LOL! The day before don't focus on studying. Focus on resting all day. Craming the day before won't help you for tomorrow and what you know will already be in your long-term memory by then. So, on Thursday just rest!!!! :sleep:Good Luck... and let me know how you felt about it.
