:heartbeat hi, well here is my story. i wanted to share with the people that are about to take nclex rn. i just took mine and it stopped at 246 questions. i took the whole 6 hours alotted to me. my thoughts were that i truly failed it again... but i had confidence because: i was getting the questions at a critical thinking level. it was a dreadful 6 hours and, i had to work 12 hour shift after that. but i made it and, what helped me was that i strengthen my knowledge level by going over the basic knowledge material that every nurse should know: (i.e. med/surg, medicatiions...). the biggest help of all was the kaplan book that taught me how to answer the nclex questions. soooo, don't take your time for granted. study every chance you get. set aside approximately 3-4 hours a day to strengthen your knowledge level. read the kaplan book to show you how to answer the questions. if you are an lpn, then you have the knowledge. definitely read the kaplan book. i know they offer like a week long course too. god bless to all the people here that share in their compassion, patience, & commitment to people in need!!!
With NCLEX you can never tell. Keep your face up high... because not everyone passes it the first time. I applaud if you do but don't kick yourself hard. Give yourself credit- YOU passed nursing school already. Just take it again. I had several friends that took it several times and a test does not make a great nurse.... Just keep that in mind. I will pray for you :nuke:
:typing Gintran, don't kick yourself over it. Now, you know what the test is like. Just pick your head up and face the challenging subjects you are weak on. There is no other way. When you feel you have had a good review over those weak areas, then consider taking it again. BUT don't wait to long, the more you wait; the greater your chances of passing the test decrease. Soooo, hit the books hard with the intention of taking it one more time. You are not alone, and like I mentioned before: HOLD THAT HEAD UP HIGH! You passed one of the hardest programs. I had one male friend that took it three times recently, but did not give up. BECAUSE in his heart, nursing is what he loved most. He passed it the third time. To be a great nurse, you must first know your material to treat a patient holistically. Give it your best!!! I know you can do it. Others before you went through the same thing you have and are practicing nurses now! Go Get 'em Tiger!
I am simply curious... Where are you from? What age are you? Have you had any experience previous to attending nursing school? Yes, it is good to cry BUT please don't isolate yourself. Of course, it is a hard thing to find out that you did not pass. So after you have dealt with feeling bad about not passing, study your weak areas. You need to deal with feeling down first before you are ready to move on and step forward to study and take the test again. I know "the shame of telling your friends". What if they find out? You may find out that some passed and some did not. You are not a quiter. If you were, you would of given up on nursing school while you were in the program. Stick around and you will see. Great results come when you deal what is bothering you directly. Therefore, take some time to let these feelings subside and continue with your short-term goal: to pass NCLEX the NEXT time you take it. Get with your instructor and see what other advice they can give you. Only you can make this happen. :nuke:
Well, congrats on your other degree! I am from Washington originally from Texas. I was prior military. I have been to 8 different colleges. I am married, no kids, but have 2 basset hounds. Just wanted to share a little about me. :nuke: Well, I want to say that if you need some advice. I am here.

I took my lpn today and it shut off at 179q. I am so sick to my stomach and scared to death. It seems that I had some of the questions repeated. Is this good or bad????
