If pass rate is 85% pass the first time.....there sure seems to be alot of people on here who have failed!! I'm feeling worse by the minute!!!!

Its 85 people per 100 who pass. We are only seeing a snippet of people from the USA who've actually taken the test posting.

There are hundreds who've passed that aren't members of allnurses. I know that Of the 7 students in my class that have taken the NCLEX, all have passed :)

I've actually seen more "I passed" than "I failed". And I honestly believe that most of the people who have failed, haven't failed because they don't know their stuff, but more that they just freak themselves out, get test anxiety and let that get the better of them. Plenty of 2nd time test takers pass. Probably due to the fact that the test anxiety is lessoned because the fear of the unknown no longer exists now that they have gotten a sample of the test.

Try to feel better. Your odds are GOOD that you passed. I know its tough. Just think about it, you got into nursing school, you passed nursing school, so you DO have the knowledge needed.

I know I have the knowledge....but did I apply it correctly!!! I'm feeling a little better. I did the delmar learning review and passed the comprehensive tests 6 times with the minimum questions (they have a CAT like test they do).......but the actual NCLEX is a whole other beast!!

Oh I hear you, loud and clear, NCLEX is a whole 'nother beast! I thought the exact same thing and said the exact same words..its is a beast of a test.

Funnier thing is that you get quite a few that post that they have failed the exam, but they have not even gotten their results.

And then two days later, they come back and post that they passed.

Everyone that tests, is under the assumption that they did not pass the exam, there is nothing like it that can prepare you for it.

If one has an 85% of something, it means things are in their favor.

Best of luck to you.

Hehe, Try 10's of thousands...

I felt the same way around dinnertime today reading these extreme posts - either 75 questions and poof - passed or the other extreme and failed.

For everyone who says "use Saunders", others say "boo on Saunders, too easy, use this or that book".

I am more nervous having come to this site. I think I should just stay away from it until I take my test and get my results because very little is helpful here. All I've seen is do the 250 Lippincott book, which I have already done and bought another fresh one to do again, know infection control - which i think I do but who knows if I'll fail the test questions - and who knows what content for the SATA.

I agree though...there's a lot of sad news here.

its seems as alot of people are posting "i failed" lately but just last week i saw alot of "i passed" (this must be a bad week or something?). i have to agree alot of people really do pass the first time. 37 out of 48 of my class has tested thusfar and we only had 1 to fail.

just recently i saw a lot of people who failed as well, but they may only think they failed, or they find this board after they failed through googling. also, i truly believe in a positive attitude and you can't psyche yourself out for the nclex. in reality, it is only a test that you can take again. i know that noone wants to hear this, but it's truth. on the other hand, i do realize that noone wants to repeat the test and everyone wants to pass because this is the beginning of the career as a nurse.

just to let you know, i passed this week... and that's why i put up a post. i usually don't post that often because i don't have that much free time to check the forum, but during my last couple days before my nclex, i was constantly checking and seeing posts "i failed." it kinda freaked me out and i said, i'm not going back on there to see that before my test, but i will post good news so people can restore faith in themselves... even for those who have to retake the exam.

i think everyone has the power to pass the exam, but #1 is confidence. without that, you won't critically think. good luck to those of you who have to take/retake the nclex. i believe...

There are quite a few that posted last week that they had failed but they had not even received their results, and then they found out that they passed the exam.

And as someone else mentioned, people have a tendency to post when they did not pass as they are busy surfing the web and find this site.

85% of test takers pass the first time, and that is what you need to take into consideration. Forget about anything else and best of luck to you.

Not everyone.

I think it is like any topic on message boards in that more vents are written than positive things. I didn't post when I passed but surely would have, looking for helpful pointers, if I failed. Just keep studying and don't let yourself get too nervous. Good luck to everyone getting ready to test!
