I am finishing my first semester. I knew it was going to be hard, but you just never know how until you get there. I knocked myself out the first two weeks, and did ok on the first test and real good on the second.
The bad thing was, I was too nervous to eat right, I didnt take breaks, and I didnt exercise. That was a huge mistake. Dont make that one. Take your breaks and take care of yourself.
I was not going to quit, but I was to the point where I could not pull myself up. I was ready to give up. I am feeling better now, but I am hoping it is not too late. I have our third exam Monday, our comprehinsive math exam Tuesday and our comprehensive final Friday. I am not sure I am ready, but I am going to give it everything I have.
Maybe I will be able to retain what I am trying to cram in in the last few days.
I just wanted to give some friendly advice and wish everyone good luck!!!
So that is what is going on here, huh?!? I kept hearing something that was different. Thought it was my kids screaming and blowing my eardrums, but I guess it was you!! Been there, done that!
I am so sorry that that is happening. Having an unsupportive hubby has got to be the worst. I am so blessed that mine is supporting me. Of course, I had to deal with him going to school for 3 years about 6 years ago, and he is now back in school!!
Just keep your chin up. Use some of your huge books that you will be getting, and bop him over the head if needed. Just tell him that you were practicing for your clinicals!!!
I have been married for almost 20 years (will be 20 the day before you start school!!) and I now have my husband trained to cry right along with me nowadays!!! He has been a great support for me, even when I decided at the last minute to start school, and had about 10 days to get things ready from taking the entrance test to doing financial aid to getting registered!
Hopefully things will look up for you. Don't let anything take away from your starting school in a couple of months. It will all work out! :icon_hug:to you~

I am sooooo relieved. Called my husband and let him know, too. We had a talk and I told him that if I can't cry to him about stuff who can I cry to? He needs to be available for me to cry to. He said that he reacts like that to me because he can't see me upset like that, the whole thing upsets him too. I told him that he needs to let me feel my feelings and let me burn them out naturally, the longer he is trying to force to stop me from expressing my feelings, the longer he will have to endure listening to it. It takes a certain amount of time for me to get over stuff and stop.
I'll take you up on that "books overthe head" offer
We've only been married 12years and I hope that by the time we are married 20 he'll cry along with me too

I am really happy for you that she is going to keep him. That is a load off your shoulders I know, and we will all be in this together.

stpauli, i am so glad that you got that call back about your son!! that is wonderful news!! i know that you are relieved! as far as hubby, he will come around! it took about 17 years for mine! but, it was all worth it! he is wonderful now! of course we still have our moments, but what marriage doesn't? just continue letting him know that you need his support and attention, and how you feel when you don't have it!

My husband is always teasing me and says that when I became a US citizen (Texas resident) they took my alien antennas off and gave me a human (Texan) blood transfusion
