For those of you that are in the US and planning to go the AOS route:
(Particularly important for those from the PIC countries and Mexico an don tourist visas.)
Be aware that as soon as the visas are no longer current, USCIS will not be accepting the I-485 petitions. They are not expected to be current next month, and also not much further into this month. When they are gone, USCIS will make a posting that the Visas are no longer current and will not be accepted as of that date. They do not give advance notice of a few days or so in advance. Just notification of when they stop accepting them.
Make sure that you are on top of things with your attorney, if you wait or do not follow up, you will need to go home.

you have not found it, it has not been posted yet for this retrogression that is coming.
you are talking about something that happened two years ago..............
as soon as the visas are no longer current, only the i-140 will be accepted.
but you are looking at old information. you need to pay attention to the dates.

please pay attention to my posting as well. i clearly listed the date of its publication: 12/29/04. it is listed as a reference. did i said it is the one for this retrogression at all?
whoever is interested in the above info should also pay attention to the details of the info. please read carefully and be careful about making assumptions.

I don't think she only "thinks so". These are facts and available for all of us on the web pages of US immigration and various immigration law offices news bulletins. They're not somebody's subjective opinions. Sorry.
