Wayne State is a very hard nursing program to get admitted to. You must submit an essay and they are prejudice against pre-req coursework that was not completed at their school. I was planning to apply to WSU but I transferred to Eastern Michigan U becuase they admit students rank-order by GPA, that is the only criteria. I think that is fair. You should consider EMU next year as a second choice. WSU admits about 120 students out of over 1000 students, EMU admits 80 out of less than 300.
I was admitted to SFSU for Fall. I had a pre-req GPA of 3.85, overall at 3.55. However, I am doing a second bachelor's. I've worked at three major medical universities in CA with 7 years experience in the medical field. I also have several hundred hours of volunteer work starting from 2000 until now.
I don't know how WSU works (my friend just graduated from there but for Socio) for nursing, so they might rank GPA, volunteer work, medical experience differently than SFSU.

Hi, I'm planning to apply to nursing school for fall 2008 this year. My overall GPA is a 3.7 and my prerequisite GPA is a 3.6. Do any of you think I have a chance of getting in? ( I"m going to apply to Wayne state University in Detroit if that helps any) What GPA did you have when you were admitted?
