So a little while ago I had posted about possibly getting a school nurse position, which ultimately I didn't get. It was pretty devastating but that shows me that I should be careful about being overconfident! Speaking with everyone involved, I know that I was the #1 choice, but they hired based on the fact that the other nurse the principal recommended (He has to recommend 2) had worked in the district for a year as a sub.
Since then, they've went out of their way to get me scheduled to volunteer in the district, as well as putting me on the substitute school nurse list. And the day I went in to fill out my paperwork, I got offered a long term position four days a week for an hour, yes, an HOUR a day at the end of the school day. Which I took. I think I had six people in administration come to meet me and thank me, and one person hugged me. lol. It was kind of hilarious how excited they all got.
They also said it puts me at the top of the list for a future f/t position
As I baby step my way into school nursing, I am really enjoying all the threads here. So much information. Have a great weekend!
