I have completed the application and testing process for this company and have a phone interview in a week and a half. I understand they are contracted out by Humana and it's a weekly home visit program to help manage Medicare clients. Does anyone have experience with this company???

Hi there. I do have experience with this company. did you have your telephone interview yet?

I did but with the rate they offered per client per month with no mileage in the rural area we live in I didn't pursue it and we finished the interview early. It is something I think I would be interested in but just not for what they were offering. Any input on the whole process?

Good morning. This is my input. I did go through the process, at your own expense, by the way. All the orientation is on your dime....no compensation. I then waited over a month before even one potential client appeared, only for that one to be taken by other vendors such as Focus Care. I resigned, because I wanted to work and got a really bad attitude from their VP. Never been spoken to like that in my over 20 yrs as an RN. You did the right thing.

Yeah, I got a bad vibe during the interview. I didn't even get to the part about the orientation and whether compensated. I was going to ask but cut it short before I got that far. Thanks for your input.

Hi! Me again! I did want to tell you, however, that the concept of what we were trying to do is a good one. They were vendors for SeniorBridge, who handles all of Humana Ins. patients. Humana is a good company and I know that other vendors probably do compensate better, AND if you could get the opportunity to work directly for SeniorBridge, then that would be the best compensation. They dont come to my area either at the moment, but was told by the director there that they are expanding on a regular basis. Good luck in your endeavors.

Thanks for the info. Good luck to you too.

I just had a phone interview with them this past Friday, I waited to turn in my docs until after the interview and they pushed so hard to get them so Wed am (Yesterday ) I scanned and emailed all my personal and bank information, within 1 hour I got a call stating I took to long to get them the information and the hiring process was stopped. The VP I was dealing with, Maro something..was not pleasant, I had some concerns about her from an email setting up my interview. My husband then became fearful that I was scammed as I found the ad on Craigslist...so I called security at our bank who recommended I start a new acct and move our money to the new acct. I was so mad..I emailed Maro and the guy I was dealing with and explained what this caused me and I did not know I was on a time schedule. Here was her reply to me...I am so thankful God closed this door, I dodged a bullet here!

"Relax. There’s no security issue here, I’m a former CCO for goodness sake. I didn’t appreciate the disparaging comments you offered my staff about me personally, either, so you and your husband should be mindful of business etiquette going forward. If you were a “good potential employee” none of this would be necessary. You knew your online docs needed to be completed within a week and you failed to do so. End of story. Your file has been shredded, you’ve never been an “official employee,” just a candidate who didn’t meet our standards. "

As far as disparaging comments I did call the headquarters as did the bank to question if these people were employed by this company. No one ever said the docs were needed with in a week, I was not about to send anything until after my interview..actually they did have my NL, cpr card and tb test results but I was not sending them bank routing and acct numbers til after the interview. She scheduled my interview 10 days out then wanted my docs 'within a week'...she had them in 2.5 working days.

I would steer clear of this company...

I just went through the process, too, with Focus Care. I submitted all of my paperwork, had my phone interview, completed all of their requirements. I received a call yesterday stating that I had typed a wrong number (one digit of my social security number) on two forms (one of the forms -then auto filled on 2nd) and they were going to resend them for me to correct. Today, instead of the forms, I was told that I was not a good fit because of my lack of attention to detail. I never got to speak to anyone other than the original contact person. I never had a 2 person interview. The interview went well, I did exceptional on my tests. My husband was leery of this company, but I was sure everything was kosher. Now, I am advising everyone to steer clear of this company. Don't send them anything. I am also going to contact their affiliates and inform them that they are very unprofessional.

I absolutely do not recommend this company. I completed all of the paperwork, went through a webinar training (3 hours unpaid). The company determines your schedule not the nurse. So when I stated that I do not want to have visits assigned on Friday, again, very rude. When I told **** ***** that I needed to wait 1 week before I finished, she was extremely rude. Told me that they had to "chase me down" and I needed to examine my own self. Really? for a prospective employee? In addition to the very low rate they pay, focus care misrepresents the amount of time each nurse spends with the client. They will tell you approximately 2 hours per month with a rate of $135. The truth is it is more like 5-6 hours per client per month. I think Humana needs to know about a vendor representing them to the clients. In my opinion - nurses need to avoid Focus Care.

Wow! Good to know this stuff. They got my resume off some job site and contacted me about a week ago. I didn't follow up. Glad now that I didn't.

Now I have to go and see if this is the company that advertised around here a week ago or so. Whatever it was, it sounded too good to be true.
