Focus Care Inc. anyone work as an RN Care Manager

Published

I have completed the application and testing process for this company and have a phone interview in a week and a half. I understand they are contracted out by Humana and it's a weekly home visit program to help manage Medicare clients. Does anyone have experience with this company???

I had worked for this company, when I went to resign the VP became very rude, condensending and threatening in email. Refused to accept phone calls, only would riddle her emails with threats and insults. Not sure how to proceede, very intimidating to work for. Now she is threating "falsifying records". How would one proceede with these threats? never in my RN career have I been treated so rudely.

this company is unreal. They would not discuss pay until I completed all Hiring paperwork! I called (MODERATOR EDIT OF NAME) the VP and she said well we can not discuss this until you do all the paperwork. I said "Really? I have never filled out hiring paperwork without knowing the pay rate." At this point she became very rude and stated I was not a good fit. I agreed and told her I did not want to work for a company with such rudeness and not even revealing pay..RIDICULOUS!!

(moderator edited out name)Hi. I had to respond. This ----------------- is a piece of work. My dealings with her were about a year ago and it seems she hasnt changed a bit. She touts being a professional but she is far from it. She seems to have a pattern of threatening people and extreme rudeness... in print no less. I , personally , contacted the Senior Bridges, which is who has them as a vendor for their Humana patients. I spoke to the fella in charge of the vendors and told him exactly how she treated me. Maybe if more folks took this action, Focus Care would be out of business. Good luck!

I would love to have their contact number...I still have her threats in email. She is very far from being professional, and the parent company needs to be aware of this.

Ok! Here goes! SeniorBridge Home Care. This is the agency that has the contract with Humana. SeniorBridge then has multiple vendors all over the US to help Humana patients not in their area... thus FocusCare. Once on their website, go tot he bottom of the page and click on Leadership Team. There are alot! I spoke directly to (moderator edited out name)., Director of Care Management Services (moderator edited out name)about and Focus Care. Their phone numbers are there as well. Check out the bio on (moderator edited out name)., VP of Corporate Development too. Reading his information today, makes me wonder if it were he I should have called. Good Luck and I'd love to hear what happens.

Is this the same Focus Care that puts everyone in the blue Ford Focus' ? I thought they were a home health rehab ?

I dont think so Libby. There are a few FocusCare entities when you google them. This company is out of Mass. and they are a managed care agency...no rehab that I know of. I just looked at their website again, which they have revamped completely since I dealt with them a year ago. I guess they think a pretty package makes them more appealing.....not!

Thank you. I see I got the name wrong, I was thinking about FocusHealth which is a home health agency in California.

Thank you ladies (and gentlemen) for your comments! You have saved me a lot of time and anguish.

When Focus Care sent me the application paperwork and requested copies of my social security number and drivers license, I became suspicious.

Even though they appear to be legit, I am not moving forward...based on similar negative comments from several individuals.

A word of caution to my nurse colleagues - there are scams out there! It should raise a red flag whenever a 'prospective employer' wants your personal information up front!! Check out the company!

I just wanted to say not all of the Agencies out there providing Care Manager's for the Humana At Home

program are like that! I know National Care Management does a good job providing pay for training,

good reimbursement and fuel stipend! All of these are per diem, so its up to the area of availability on

how many members are out there. Plus, how well all the work is done. I do know Humana has a VERY STRICT

24 hour turn around time and any agency is going to be watching how well applicants meet the new hire

paper work time lines before even proceeding. This is a great job for the nurse that is really good at

time management and paper work as well as loves 1:1 with their patients! I love Care Management!
