Florida SouthWestern State College (FSW) - Fall 2022

Published

Hey y’all!! I’m taking prerequisites and I’m hoping to apply by May 2022 Lord willing. I noticed that the previous program started a post and figured why not get one started for the next class. I’ll update this post when I apply and if/when I get accepted.

Sara (nursing student advisor) said that they would continue interviews via zoom. It would take about 45min to complete. The interview is their way to get to know the applicant. Testing is in person this fall. I think she said we’d find out if we are accepted in the program by the 3rd or 4th week of June. I wish I had written it down LOL. But honestly, I wasn’t thinking about the process for that far ahead. I just wanted to know when would we proceed to phase 2.

Oh cool! So all we would have to come in for is the testing. Did she say that the interviews would still be in the group format? But that tracks about getting the acceptance in the 3rd - 4th week of June. If I remember correctly, the last fall cycle got their acceptance (after phase 2) on June 18th which is the 3rd Friday of the month. So we should ~hopefully~ know by the 17th of June this year! Honestly, that’s really good information thank you so much! I appreciate it. I’m excited to just get the testing/interview phase over with. ?

I applied for the Lee ANEW program for Fall 2022. I spoke with Sarah (nursing advisor) on Friday morning & she said they were about finished reviewing applications so sounds like we may hear this coming week -5/23 or hopefully no later than the week after that. Has anyone heard of any tips for the math test or interview? Best of luck to everyone!

Yeah if you also look on the FSW AS Nursing page, it also states that we should get an update about our application the week of the 23rd. Probably on Friday. From what I’ve heard, studying on Khan academy/Youtube really helps. On the website it says to focus on fractions, decimals, percentages and your basic addition, subtraction, multiplication, division. Personally, I’ve been doing like middle school math because we can’t use a calculator so it has to be stuff easy enough to do without one. As far as the interview, I’m not really sure. They say it’s a more of a “get to know you” setup. So probably subjective questions and just looking at your overall personality. You can probably Youtube nursing school interview questions and maybe get a general idea but that’s as far as I know. I hope that helps!

Thanks Karli! I also heard that "Why do you want to be a nurse" was a question asked. Good luck to you.

Yes!! Typical question, I think the interview might be in a group format so depending on the order definitely try to change up your answer if you find ppl are saying similar answers to the one you have. The best tip is to make yourself stand out! Good luck to you as well Jessica!

Let's keep each other posted!

Me too! ❤️

Collier and Charlotte days are my second and third choice. Hopefully we get the same class together :))

I did the same, collier and Charlotte days are my second choice. I work at lee health on the weekends for that reason. I am hoping and praying I get in. I finished the minimum pre-reqs. I am taking Stats this Summer. In reading the previous posts I see the more extra pre reqs you take the higher your score....ahhh I am so nervous. I am so happy you chose lee days too I hope we get in at the same time.
