Hey y’all!! I’m taking prerequisites and I’m hoping to apply by May 2022 Lord willing. I noticed that the previous program started a post and figured why not get one started for the next class. I’ll update this post when I apply and if/when I get accepted.

It is not the right one, at least not for college student and LPN applicants the one @edwjea posted is for HS graduates whose deadline is June 30th to apply. Here are the differences. You can find this on the ASN website.

Ohhh yea that’s the one I saw too
I don’t get it?. So the GPA and the A’s and B’s are calculated. Ex: 3.4 w 8 done and 4 A’s and 3 B’s. Gets a 18/20 interview, 9/20 math, 14/20 Writting. How would that calculate?
I have a high GPA 3.7 but I see on the admission sheets people as low as 3.3 and 5/20 on some sections got in and total points 70+ how they get a 70 ?? help me understand please ?. If they are adding 3 points for AB’s and 4 points for A’s on top of whatever the GPA got for points on math it say 8 so I’m just confused.
I’ll try to explain it a little bit more!
Here’s a picture of mine —
So in the first column you’re going to put how many credit hours each course is! Every one should have the same number of credit hours because it’s standard. ENC 1101 is 3 BSC 1085 is 4 — essentially any class with a lab is 4 credit hours and other classes without a lab is 3.
The next column you’re going to put the grade point you got for the class. There’s a key under the GPA that tells you what the grade point for each letter grade is: A = 4 B = 3 and C = 2. You’re going to put the number that follows the letter grade. So I got all As (4s) in my courses except DEP I got a C so I put a 2 there.
After you hit enter it calculates the last column for you which if you notice the pattern it’s just multiplying the first column into the second to = the 3rd column (quality points). After you finish all that then your total will tell you what your GPA is and it’ll give you what number of points it matches too! If you took all the courses the total number of credit hours should equal 30! If not, it’ll be a lower number and you just leave the ones you didn’t take blank. It’ll still calculate the same way. So I have a 3.8 therefore I started out with 17 points. I hope that helps!!
OK, so to explain further — I got a 17 in the GPA points. After taking the math and writing, I got 18/20 on both my tests. So you would add your score on the GPA points plus your math score and writing score so mine looks like —
17+18+18 = 53 points.
I still have my interview to do which I have today so those points will be added to the 53 points I have. Let’s say I got a 20/20 on the interview 53 + 20 = 73 points and that’s what my total points would be for the end of phase 2.
They don’t take your overall GPA and add it to the GPA calc they do on the spreadsheet they calculate your GPA based on the classes you took that are on the spread sheet! So even tho my overall is a 3.58 my total GPA for the nursing program is a 3.8 based on the courses they are calculating.
So if you do have a 3.7 on the nursing GPA calc you would have 15 points to start add your 9 points from math, 14 points from writing, and 18 points from interview that would 15 + 9 + 14 + 18 = 56 points in total!
Does that make a little more sense? I know it’s a lot to calculate all at once.
People can get in the 70s by having really high GPA points and getting high scores in the testing phase. The most you can get is 80 but no one gets that high.

This makes so much more sense! I didn’t know you could input the info in there!
Awww I’m glad it makes more sense ?
Yes, if you download the spreadsheet and click enable editing you’ll be able to calculate your own GPA score. Kinda puts your mind at ease, or if it’s not as high as you would like it gives you chance to make up points in the testing phase if you got selected for it!
