I know this is way far in advance but I am taking my perquisites online in hopes to apply for the FSW nursing program sometime in 2022. I spoke to my advisor and he told me that they are changing the point system for admission to program in the Spring. Does anyone have anymore info about this? I just don't want to miss anything.

this was taken from the FSW ASN page about both the math and writing portion of the test. essentially you’re going to look for grammatical errors. I assume spelling, punctuation, correct tenses etc. I hope that helps ?

Hi I’m currently in the nursing program and the English portion was very simple. You get a paragraph and have to point out the grammar errors. They tell you how many errors are in the paragraph. I would just find some videos on practicing it on Youtube or something. I didn’t study at all for it but English is my first language. You should do great on that part though.
Wow thank you all for posting this information and @karliwithak_ for asking the questions. I have all the prerequisites done except that new Humanities civic one needed for graduation. My GPA is 3.6 and I’m currently an LPN July will be 2 years. I will get to skip first semester per the advisor of nursing during the informational session. Lee anew, Collier, Charlotte are what I choose in that order. What she said is nerve wrecking since technically the class I will be joining will have been in school since January and already formed bonds ect but I’m sure it will be fine. I’m excited and nervous hopefully I can get in this is my only school choice and 14 months (Dec 23) is not a bad grad date so fingers crossed for me. Math is not my strong subject so we shall see.
@edwjea the forums for the last few application cycles have been so informative on what to expect when the process actually starts! Congrats on having all your pre-reqs done! I have them all done too and actually have my AA degree so that new humanities civic course must be a new requirement. Awesome GPA too, mine for the GPA calc excel sheet is a 3.8 so I’m pretty happy with that.
I loved the informational session I took with them. Super informative and I got to ask all the questions I could. Super cool that you’re a LPN! How have you liked it? I think you’ll be fine tho!
It seems like the girls on these forums have been really nice and helpful and they’ll be in your class so I’m sure you can reach out to them as well. I definitely think you should be able to get in. It seems they do things a little differently/separately for traditional applicants and LPN applicants so there’s prob not that much competition.
For the math, I’ve been brushing up with khan academy math in like grades 6-9 with basic math skills and it’s been really helpful! I think you’ll do great and I’m excited for the process to finally start soon! ☺️

thank you both for your inputs, they’ve been so helpful this week and really put my mind at ease. I’ve always been a lowkey teacher’s pet so it’s nice to know that as long as I continue to be myself I shouldn’t have a problem.
