Florida SouthWestern State College (FSW) NURSING - 2022

Published

I know this is way far in advance but I am taking my perquisites online in hopes to apply for the FSW nursing program sometime in 2022. I spoke to my advisor and he told me that they are changing the point system for admission to program in the Spring. Does anyone have anymore info about this? I just don't want to miss anything.

Hi, any in the ANEW program at the collier campus?

Also has anyone purchased books yet? They seem expensive

I haven't. Waiting till next Friday. They are super expensive!

In one week we all will start Nursing School! Woot Woot! So exciting, and nerve racking. Good luck to everyone ❤️

Has anyone been able to purchase the Elsevier HESI Assessment using the link provided?

Disregard, I got it ?

Hi, I was wondering what’s your schedule like? In terms on class lecture during the week.

The interview questions are pretty easy. One question was like "tell us a time you dealt with a dificult situation and how did you handle it" and with one random question like "what animal would you be and why" - they want to see what your defining characteristics are.

The math portion was also easy just brush up on decimals and fractions.

Take any other classes you can this Summer like microbio to lighten your load while in the nursing program too.

Mondays Fundamentals from 8:30 - 3:50 with an hour lunch break. The morning part is lecture and the afternoon is "lab" which is to learn and practice nursing skillls then having them test. For example today we got checked off on how to correctly pass oral medications. (right pt, right time, right route, right reason, right dose, and triple checking its the correct med)

Tuesday is just zoom lecture for pharm 1-3pm

Wednesday is a full day again  for Health assessment with zoom lecture 8:30-11 and afternoon "lab" 12-2:30pm. you learn how to do vitals, respiratory assessment, cardiac assessment abdominal assessment, then a full head-to-toe assessment

And starting this Friday are our clinicals 6:30-3pm

I highly recommend watching Registered Nurse Sara RN on Youtube she gives great instructional videos on how to do them all
