PHCC LPN Applicants/ New Students

Published

I was just wondering if there were any PHCC applicants out there just waiting for June/July, and what were your NET scores like? I guess I am trying to get a feel for what the "competition" is like?

Is anybody a new student at PHCC either North or West Campus? What are your feelings about the program? Any regrets or thinking you would have rather gone somewhere else?

I just took the NET on Friday and am debating if I need to retest; got a 97 on math and 73 on comp and 85 on written expression. I put in the app for North and West just to see if I can get on the alternate list; I doubt I will be getting in this go around since it is my first time applying but gotta start somewhere.

Cannot wait to hear from some locals, Liz

:yeah:Congratulations to you too forever29 and happy birthday! See you in the fall!

CONGRATULATIONS FOREVER29 AND DIANAD54!!! That's awesome news. :D

Would you guys mind telling me your net scores and prereq. GPA? I haven't recieved any letters yet, I hope that doesn't mean I didn't get in. I'm thinking they send out the acceptance letters first...I hope that isn't the case.

Congratulations guys!!!!!!!!!! I recieved my letter today and I got in to the Practical Nursing program. I am sooooo excited!!!!!!!!!!! Anyone get into PN for August Brooksville campus???? Good luck and hope to see you there!!!!!!!!!

Well, I see there really are more locals out there! I received my acceptance letter today for the PN program; now, I just need to choose between East or West Campus which is a no brainer considering I live in NPR.

I think I may be having an issue with fin. aid., but I will have to give them a call on Monday. I'm gonna have to figure out how to make up for what fin. aid doesn't cover; that stinks! What does Career Central offer exactly?

So, glad to see others in the area are on these boards. I'm going on my second major and third year of college which has been a little daunting, but cheers to eventual success! LOL Congrats to all of you! Hope more of us show up and start strategizing how to help each other get through all the upcoming ups and downs. :)

I was told that they don't offer the pn program at the east campus bearhugs1981 . Did you mean you have a choice between the north and west campus?

I was also told at student services that you couldn't apply to more than one campus. I tried to apply for the rn program at the dade city campus and the new port richey campus, but they only allowed me to submit one application.

Oh, yes, I meant North campus; maybe the RN (I applied to PN) applications are different, but you should, if you can, apply for all applicable campuses. I caught on to that when I first applied to West and fully read the packet. I then went back and put in an app for North. Do NOT trust those people in Student Services; if it was up to them I would have never graduated the first time. They like to keep you enrolled as long as possible; more $$. At first, I thought one application was inclusive of all campuses for the semester, but that is not the case.

Thanks for the tips and info. bearhugs1981 . I really do appreciate it, and I totally get what your saying about being misinformed. I've had a few instances where I was told two different things. It can be pretty irritating.

Thanks again bearhugs1981.

Hey Gummybear06, in response to your post earlier. My prerequisite GPA was a 3.8 and my NET score was an 88. I heard they only look at your reading score but I don't know if that is true or not. My letter was dated June 19 so they just sent them out yesterday.

Congratulations to everyone who recieved your acceptance letters!:yeah:

I'm not sure if my letter came today because I'm away from home right now but, I wanted to say congratulations to those of you that got accepted and thanks for sharing what you have learned from your phone calls to the school! :yeah: I'm sorry if I caused anyone any extra anxiety by mentioning that the school changed my major in WISE. I really jumped the gun on that one. :imbar

Gummybear06, student services told me that you only select a campus before applying to the LPN program. For the RN program, they decide at orientation who gets to go to which campus. I suppose that might mean that some people may have to attend classes at a campus other than their first choice.

Morning!

So you get your campus assignment at orientation huh? I was wondering which campus I was on because it was not stated in my letter.

Jenn (gummybear) - I have a 3.54 GPA and got an 85 on my reading comp.

My letter was dated June 19th also. With the experiences I have had with my local mail delivery, I am very surprised I got the next day.

I hope your mailboxes have good news for all of you soon!

To anyone who got into the PN program,

I received my letter but the attached document that I am suposed to return says RN not PN? Anyone else experience that? My letter says PN and I only applied to the PN program. Wondering if I return this letter if it would be rejected because I sent in the wrong form, ya know????

does everyone rec. a letter even if they don't get in??? i didn't get a letter yet for the RN and getting nervous b/c i didnt rec. it yet and many people did./??????
