Florida LPN pay rate

Published

Hi Everyone,

I'm a LPN considering a move to the Daytona Beach area but have heard pay rates there are extremely low. Is this true? I can only find discussion from 2011 and they said around 15$ per hour was going rate. Is this still the case? I make significantly more than that in Texas.

Thanks for any help,

RJ

Generally speaking, Florida tends to pay 15 to 20 percent less than the national average due to oversupply. In other words, people willingly accept the low pay in exchange for living in a desirable tourist attraction state.

There's a saying: "Florida is where people are paid in sunshine."

Florida pay is pretty crappy. For what it's worth though, even $15 sounds a bit low unless you are working in an office or private duty home care.

I've been at 4 different jobs as an LPN over the years, and all paid $18/hr. I'm not in Daytona, but near Tampa.
