I studied my butt off for Chem. I would use anything available to you to help with the class. Chemistry just isn't my thing. I spent HOURS on that class. I did end with a B+ though. Good luck!

Thanks.... Chem is not my thing either, but I was wondering if there was a particular study guide that you had used...and also, I registered for the aging and society for the 2nd half of the semester... I'll probably drop it if the chemistry kicks my hindparts :)

Like you I will definitely have to put alot of time into it... God's willing I'll aim for the C and with luck I'll do better.

Thanks again

that's why I went to a state university where the prices are WAYYYYY less than that. I paid $109/credit plus $199 for online fee for each course.

If you don't mind me asking, what state university did you go to?? Thanks in advance.

Wel, I am a year into this program (RN-BSN) online and I still love it. Some may think that $300 a credit hour is pricey but there are many other programs that charge much more. I hope to be done at the end of 2012. Totally do-able, instructors are WONDEFUL. Still happy

To preface this and for full disclosure: I graduated ASN from Florida Hospital College and work for FH currently.

I have many friends/co workers currently enrolled or recently graduated from the RN to BSN program. Not one I have talked to enjoyed it, thought it was a good program, or felt that they really learned anything to make them a better nurse. I know, depressing. And I have seen the hoards of busy-work type papers they are required to submit.

Bottom line all of them felt it was so much busy work and did not get anything education-wise out of it. They all signed contracts and felt it was a way for FH to keep nurses and also facilitate Florida Hospitals goal of having a percentage of their RNS with BSN to help them get their coveted "magnet status"

This makes me so not want to get a BSN in nursing. I loved my ASN program and learned a lot so this makes me sad to hear these very negative reports. But I don't want to sign a contract for a bad program and I don't want to pay the over inflated cost of their classes. If you sign a contract and then don't fulfill it the price is 21,000. No thanks. Oh one more thing; they all took the online version of the BSN program so I don't know if the classroom situation is any better.

I am sorry you had a bad experience. I on the other hand had no issues whatsoever. Everyone was so professional, the instructors were very knowledgeable and great to work with, and it was very doable with my busy schedule. I graduated last Spring with my RN-BSN. Very proud of myself. I would attend Adventist University (formerly FHCHS) again, I wish they offered an MSN program!

MereSanity, I assume you were responding to my comment but not sure if you read what I said. I did not have a "bad experience" at Adventist University but was passing on comments from my co-workers and friends who attended or are presently enrolled in the RN to BSN program. Two of these nurses are members of the Seventh Day Adventist Church and they still had a negative take on this program. I'm glad that you had no issues whatsoever. And I hope you feel like you got something of value out it.

Yes MereSanity you already stated that you had "no issues whatsoever." And I can see that you are very proud of yourself.

I am happy for you but the topic was about people's experience at Adventist University (formerly FHCHS) and I think people should have the information before they enroll. None of the RNs in the program that I know feel like this BSN program really assisted them in becoming more educated and more knowledgeable nurses. And that is a problem in my view. Because really, isn't that the point?

I don't want to sign a contract and I actually would pay and take classes if I thought it would be worth while. And I mean worthwhile as far as money spent but more importantly furthering my knowledge base and performance. As one poster said it was not like a private school but more like an online prerecorded lecture with private school prices. They charge a lot for the courses and the investigation I have done does not seem it is worth it.

I think that they should really reevaluate their process and make sure they are furthering their students education and not just their interest in having more BSNs at their affiliated hospitals to assist them in achieving THEIR goal of magnet status.

So sorry you were so unhappy with your experience preeps...I never had one pre-recorded lecture (all my classes had instructors who were very nice and always got back to me right away). I also felt at $300 a credit hour it was much less than any private school I had researched. It sounds like you aren't happy and your issues aren't going to be resolved anytime soon. Much luck to you.

Wow Meresanity, Why is it so upsetting to you that others disagree with you and your experience? Do you always get personal and attack people who disagree with you? Your post seems very much like an ad for this school. I wonder what the affiliation is that you would take it so personal.
