Florida BON eligibility

hello everyone!!! I am an Rn from the Philippines. i would like to ask how long does florida BON issue eligibility to take the NCLEX? CGFNS-CES issued their report regarding my credentials last May 2006 and everything states that ALL requirements meet. When can i expect my eligility to arrive?

The only way to sit for the NCLEX is to go thru an approved program. Verify any of these shortcut programs directly with the Board of Nursing, do not take their word on it. It is your money.

Why do you need a pre-LPN program? The only thing that is needed is the LPN program.

Thread moved to International Forum as it has nothing to do with American nurses that wish to work in Flroida, it is specific to International nurses.

In the future, please post and adress all concerns re working in the US under the International Forum. Many reuqirements are different from those that are needed by American nurses. It will make it easier for everyone.

I am sorry if I'll be reviving this thread. I have a question to tabby75. Since you are already eligible to take NCLEX (for which I think you have passed already^^), I was wondering if you also submitted an application form to FLorida BON? I am also from the Philippines and I chose CGFNS to review my credentials. After CGFNS forward the report to Florida BON, what should I do next? Thanks.^^

You still need to complete an application form for Florida it is, if I remember rightly, that they will not touch your application until CES has been completed, so if at this stage then complete application and pay any fees.

I have not yet submitted an application form to Florida since I'm still waiting for CGFNS to forward my full course by course report to Florida BON.

I have recently talked to a friend and she already is eligible to take NCLEX (from California BON). She said that she didn't undergo CES review in CGFNS...I am confused.

CA do their own evaluation but if you go with them and end up moving to work in another state you have to meet their requirements which may involve getting CES. There are a lot of issues with CA and there is now a sticky mentioning these issues (thanks to Suzanne) and why we do not recommend it for initial licensure as a foreign nurse. Once you know CES has been forward that is when you complete you Florida application

Ok thank you so much^^ It really clarifed things for me. Oh wait, one more thing... according to their site, they need healthcare profession and science CES report only, but what I requested for CGFNS is Full course-by-course CES report!

I am a little anxious since I already paid in full the report. Would that still be valid?

Yes you should be OK. Full course is a better one to get anyway.

Full course report is the one that we always recommend; if you decide to attend grad school in the US, that is always a requirement before you will be accepted.

This way you will have one step already done.
