Flight Nurse/Paramedic for Angels of Flight Canada Inc. thru D'Boons Manpower Service

Good day!

I would like to start this conversation with those who also applied as a Flight Nurse/Paramedic for Angels of Flight Canada Inc. like me. I feel unsure if it is legit.

I've learned the opening through Jobstreet website last July 25, 2014 under the company name of Nice Green Consultancy and click the Apply button. I got a text message yesterday (July 28, 2014) stating that there are only 8 slots left for the position of flight nurse and also to check my e-mail for detailed information. The e-mail is 6 pages consisting all the information that I think I needed. I followed the recruitment process which is to call the landline number given to check for slot availability. The man on the other line said that there are 2 slots left and told me to text them my full name for slot reservation. The reservation is temporary and valid for 1 hour unless I paid the said amount for the Seminar.

D'Boons Manpower services is the affiliated consultancy firm of Angels of Flight Canada Inc. here in the Philippines in which who will conduct the said Seminar. I checked at the DOLE website if the said firm is license and legal and yes it is registered.

My question is these:

1. Is D'Boons Manpower allowed to deploy nurses?

It is not registered in the POEA but as what they told me they are consultancy firm that's why they are not in the list of POEA and the visa, work permit will be process by the employer but I'm not really sure if it's true.

2. Why did Angels of Flight Canada Inc. website announced this?

" Please note .July 27, 2014 .

We are currently not hiring any nurses or paramedics for the PHILLIPINES. "

3. are there other nurses/applicant who also followed the process?

I want to have a conversation with someone who also applied for this.

Actually they didn't check the number they text. I got the same message except the name of the agencies and employers.

I also received email look like this yesterday, but from different company. Its from http://www.stars.ca thru ibj manpower services. I need to pay for seminar and training on aug 9-10, the payment named to coordinator and ceo of stars.ca...i called them to inquire and they told me that this is direct hire so they are allowed only to deploy 20 person only....and the departure would be on dec 2014...

I emailed the dole to verify if this is legit, hopefully they do something about this...and the involve company pay for this scam...

It's a scam. Stars doesn't even use that name doing business in Canada if you read up a few posts from a Canadian nurse in the know. They do not have any open positions. And they few times they do, the highly coveted flight nurse positions are quickly filled by highly qualified provincially licensed Canadian nurses. They have no reason to recruit overseas. (Neither do the US flight nurse/medic crews. I know a highly experienced critical care nurse who joined the state police and went through the academy just to get an edge when a slot opened up on one of the state police medievac flight crews as a flight nurse)

Why on earth would they hire 20 overseas nurses when there are plenty of qualified nurses in AB, MB & SK provinces seeking employment?

Sadly, I am also a victim. I just send my payment today in the morning and boom.. I've seen that this job ad was just a scam. I send my payment through western union and i already contacted them about the fraud file. I will make a police report to know whom is this devil! So they can stop taking advantage of us nurses. They have no mercy, our parents or even us are working so hard to earn that money. If anyone here whom also want to report this case just contact me.. I hope to be working hand on hand with you guys to stop this bogus.

I already report this matter to sir tulfo of tv 5. To all the victims please send to me all the evidence that we can give to sir tulfo as it may help on finding that devil who stole our money. Please email me at [email protected]. Please lets help each other. God is on our side.

The best way to STOP these scammers is to simply not keep funding them by sending in money for whatever reasons. Once the money starts to dry up, so will they, otherwise as more and more desperate ones try to put their hopes with their hard earned money or from family, relatives or friends. These greedy scammers just prey and pray on the ones that are the most in dire needs and they could care less who or what they hurt in the long run.

They need to keep buying their expensive cars, homes and live the life of luxury off your backs. That's probably the best joke they get every time they see money waiting for them.

Another thing to do is to further educate yourself and many others. Stop giving them money.

Remember that legit agencies do NOT ask for so many up-front money and if they do, simply IGNORE them but let others know.

The reason these scammers just simply change their business names, is that it WORKS for them. The main part of their operations remains the same as it WORKS and it works so great, it parts the money from your pockets into their's, they will get brand new "customers".

The more and more, people decide to hand over the money, you're just as guilty I'm sorry to say to keep the scammers in business and this is how the scammers works, it's all business, nothing personal. To them, you're faceless other than a good source of good income to fill their evil needs.

Go ahead and pay it. You are living up to the slogan "a sucker born every minute"

Multiple posters have told you this is a scam. I live and work in Alberta. I see STARS choppers on a regular basis. They have no vacancies, they have no need to find nurses overseas. There are qualified ER, ICU and military nurses waiting for those vacancies to appear.

Pls don't be so harsh on us. You aren't living in our country. You aren't the one who received the e-mail. We have different situations. Have you read the e-mail? Victims should be helped not criticized. I'm not starting a fight here. I was hurt with what you said. Please respect the feelings of the victims. We need info and advice not judgement or labels.

So it means that Western Union and LBC still accepts payment even they are notified already. Well maybe because they use the other names of Stars Canada and IBJ manpower's CEOs.

Beware of giving your identity here because they are also reading this. We dont know if they have a tech-savvy accomplice to hack or to check your personal infos. Just saying.
