Flight nurse to CRNA school?

Published

Hello,

I was wondering if anyone has been a flight nurse before deciding to go to CRNA school? How many years of ICU or ER before going into flight and then into CRNA school?
thank you!

I had a nurse I flew with who was able to get in to a respected program using her flight and previous ER experience. She did have to jump through some extra hoops to document that she had the relevant experience, but she did make it in..

This was about 5-6 years ago..

The Flight experience will help you for sure and give you an edge as long as you get that minimum year or two ICU experience. The autonomy you will get on the helicopter will be a big benefit.

Absolutely! Being an ICU, ER and/or Flight Nurse gives you the critical care background needed for CRNA school.

Good luck with your career pathway.
