Flight Nurse Book Called Trauma Junkie

Hey all,

I'm currently reading Trauma Junkie: Memoirs of an Emergency Flight Nurse by Janice Hudson. I'm loving it right now. I wanted to throw it out here as an option for learning more information about flight nursing or at least for providing some entertaining reading if anybody wanted to check it out.

If you've read it, what did you think of it?

trauma junkie...dont need a book or movie. Some nurses like me, thrive on trauma, makes me feel human. and I get paid for it.

I've read both editions twice. Outstanding read! The big difference between the first and second edition are an extra chapter, some extra background info about how the book came to be in the first place. There is also a section in the back which reads like a "where are they now?".

I also read this book!! Great read!!!! I would definitely recommend it to any nurses out there!!

Just ordered it from Amazon. Bought another orange book call EMERGENCY...Can't wait to start reading it! I have not read for enjoyment in 5yrs I guess. (Usually read about medical 'need to know' stuff)

Air Medical Transport Teams can vary depending on location or place of employment. Some programs do more trauma, others more medical transports. Trauma Junkie focuses on the trauma portion of flight nursing.

I am a flight nurse practitioner and have spent the last few years documenting some of my more memorable transports (rotor-wing, fixed-wing, and mobile ICU).
