Hi Everyone,
I started A&P 1 last week and was wondering if any used (and recommend) the flash cards. If so, can you tell me which ones you think are best? Thanks for your input.

I love using flash cards, and I used them all through anatomy! I bought the Netter's anatomy flash cards and used them to memorize the bones and such. However, I also made my own flash cards. I made them for terms as well as concepts. Also, my lab partner brought his camera to lab and took pictures of all of the models and slides, so we also turned those pictures into flash cards...nothing like being able to study off a picture of the actual model that they will use in the lab practical.
In the end, I found my own personal flash cards more helpful than the Netter ones, but those were helpful too. I bought both the hard copy flash cards, as well as the flash cards for the I-pod (and the I-pod version was very helpful when I didn't want to carry flash cards everywhere).

Hello,
While in A&P class I found the Anatomy Coloring Book very helpful. I was able to find one at the local Barnes and Noble or Borders. I would also recommend taking pictures of the models in class if you can.
Good Luck,

Just for info, flashcard site: http://www.flashcardexchange.com
One more thing, someone posted on here before about a book that they bought that has pictures of all of the most common lab models--I think they ordered it from Amazon for around $25 or $30...I know it would be helpful if I could remember the name of the book, but I cannot. (maybe it was called "anatomy lab" or something like that). Anyway, after reading the post, I did look up the book and I remember wishing that I had known about it when I was in A & P, so you might want to search through the threads for that book. I'll keep trying to remember the name and will post it if I can figure it out.
I remembered the name of the book: The Home Lab by James Isaac (it's like $25 at Amazon).
Totally amazing...pictures of all of the models, fully labeled. Very cool. I think I just might order it as a reference to use through nursing school. A big thanks to whoever first posted about such a cool resource!

Well I didn't use any flash cards but one of our lab manuals was AWESOME! It is expensive ($80 used) but totally worth it. It breaks down every single thing that can possible be labeled in/on the human body and has wonderful pictures. Read the reviews. You won't regret it.

I just started last week, too. I bought the Netter's Anatomy Flash Cards, but so far, we've only worked on the basics---chemistry, basic definitions, etc.---so, I made some of my own for those. I just use plain old index cards (they have really gotten thin since I used them last) and I write my question/word on the front and the answer on the back. Just writing them has already helped with my comprehension. It does look like the Netter's are going to be great---I'm curious to hear other hints from others, too.
