Hi everyone!
I'm not sure if there is another thread for FIU's 2014 generic BSN program, but I figured I'd make one. I just wanted to see if there was anyone else who applied? I finished applying about a week ago and I was hoping maybe someone in the program could give us some advice or insight on how they like the program.
Thanks! And good luck everyone!!
Yeah, I agree. It too late in the enrollment process to start getting cold feet. Not to mention there is a bunch of people who would give a arm and a leg to be in your position. I just spend over 807.66 dollar just to get all the book, and I'm hurting. Last thing I want to hear is people still debating whether FIU is the best choice or not....
Personally, I would choose FIU over Nova because I think it's a more prestigious program and you'll receive a better education, which is why I believe it's also harder to get into. At the end of the day you're the only one that should be making the decision where you go to school. I was just wondering if you also had to confirm your seat like the rest of us?
@stan, did you buy your books from the FIU bookstore?
@stan: no-one is getting cold feet. Not sure where you are reading into that. I'm simply weighing the pros and cons of each program with the chance of getting a scholarship. I was accepted to both programs like many others and I do sympathize to those who weren't as fortunate
but I did earn those acceptances. I am merely weighing my options to my future.
@Britt: yes I did reserve my spot at FIU as I also had to pay a deposit at Nova. Unfortunately when you receive the acceptance they only give you about two weeks, that and those scholar interviews are done weeks after you pay your deposit. I am too thinking FIU seems like the better pick and actually might go with it vs getting a scholarship as well. Best of luck to you!
I bought my books online at the FIU bookstore. I tried to reduce the price by buying some used and some new. It came up to 749 plus 56 dollar tax. ( I didn't want to buy book that came with CD and online access codes used) I also compared the price to amazons selection and the difference was only 8-9 dollar on the used book option, and I didn't want to get a book that was super worn out. So, all in all, I paid 807 dollar.

Wow $12/hour? That seems ridiculously low, translates to only about 25K/year. I won't be going to Nova unless I would get that scholarship so the cost of Nova is irrelevant to me I'm also not too worried about the length of the program. However, I was and am much more impressed with FIU, I already have all of my classes scheduled so I am just waiting on Baptist now.
