FIU FNP Fall 2017

Published

Hello! So I had decided to create a blog for those interested in the FIU's program for the upcoming fall. It's a bit early since applications are accepted in December. I signed up for nursingcas and tried looking for their program but for some reason it is not listed yet. Not sure if it's because it's too soon but I see other schools listed and it also starts the same time. I graduated last December and currently working full time and I just have an urge to go back to school now. Hope to hear from you guys soon! :)

JK I literally just got the call that I got accepted :D I'm so excited!!!!

Also got the call.... did anyone else got offered either program the solo MSN or the combined MSN-DNP? Anyone else thinking of switching......

So you got a call that you got accepted or that they offered you to switch to the combined route ?

Both, they said I've been accepted into either program

I see so which one did you say you wanted to go into?

I had originally applied to the solo MSN but I actually decided to switch to the MSN-DNP

So does that mean you have to take your GRE then? Or have you taken it already.

I have to take it by the end of June

Same here! Switched over to DNP. GRE has to be taken at the end of June

Is there really any advantage to doing the DNP? Sure, you'd make a little more money, but I really have no interest in doing research plus another year of school isn't appealing to me.

It's really about the fact that you're on the same level as a physician, PT, pharmacist because they all have their doctorates. So eventually they're gonna implement the Doctorate role in 2025 if it all pans out.

I got accepted via phone when they called me. I switched from solo msn to combined msn-dnp. Nancy sent me an email that states acceptance letter/package will be sent out towards the end of the month.
