Hey guys! Is anyone here applying for the Generic BSN program for Fall 2016? I couldn't find any topics for it.
I'm in the process of applying right now and I just took the TEAS V today! I'm content with my score, but I may retake it. I hope that with my TEAS V score, my GPA, and my extracurricular activities combined that have a good chance of getting accepted into the program!
My stats are:
Science GPA: 4.0
GPA: 3.96
TEAS V Cumulative score: 79.3%
Reading portion: 83.3% unfortunately I ran out time on this one and had to blindly guess on two questions!
Math portion: 66.7% such a bad score for me! I had to guess on like 5 questions because I wasn't keeping track of time!
Science: 81.3% I'm so relieved with this score. I was so scared that I wouldn't pass the 62% mark. It wasn't as bad as I thought it would be!
English and Grammar: 83.3 % It was an okay section, a couple of tricky questions. I had like 3 questions on how a word is spelled correctly and those get confusing when two of them look like the right answer!
I would love to hear from anyone else who is also applying for the Fall 2016!
Guys, are you taking any classes at fiu? Because I only have an A.A. From dade and I never took classes at FIU. I got admitted but they're saying I have to pay the $200 fee of the deposit! It would suck to pay that much and not end up getting in
Im not either Suzette ..... I would be a transfer student coming to FIU. I paid the $200 deposit and boy did it hurt lol to hold my "spot" they said. I was thinking the same as you about not getting accepted. How long ago did you get accepted into the school? If you just got it now, you may be able to get away with holding it off until the results come in. I had no idea about it when I applied in December so I had to pay it around February max if memory serves me right.
I actually applied for the Fall 2015 term but I had no idea I HAD to pay the deposit lol. So now I'm filling out a form to start in the Fall 2016 and pay the $200 deposit...thank goodness I noticed this now!
ahh makes me wonder if we even have to pay for it if its been that long lol. I was getting nonstop messages which is why I caved in. Hopefully its not a $200 waste =)
You don't have to pay that yet until you get accepted to the nursing program. I asked them the same question lol. Good luck everyone😠May is definitely taking for ever !!! And I also have my A.A. From Dade, graduation ceremony is on the 30th which is taking forever to get here as well lol
Yeah im taking mostly filler classes: macroeconomics, spanish 1, and precalc/trig. And same problem WAY more work than i was expecting. Anatomy and microbiology I totally get, but somehow macro is KICKING my butt!!
Yeah im also at MDC, but the deposit deadline for transfer students isnt until August 22. You can check their website admissions.fiu.edu/admitted
Well this just sucks! I already paid for it. All I can hope for now is getting admitted =/
Lot's of people from Dade lol :) so I take it most of you guys are in Miami already? I applied for housing back in March in case I get accepted to hold my spot, but I am on a waiting list. Ideally i'd like the housing over renting so I don't pay out of pocket each month.
omg, I seem to have the worst luck in the world.... just now I noticed I got an email from the school saying they were unable to access my video. I immediately sent it to them, but it was written out to me yesterday and stated I had until 5pm yesterday to do it to move on in the process. I was a day late and now it is the weekend so I am stressing.
Don't freak out! I'm sure it will be fine. I remember reading in other threads of some people responding a bit late to the emails and they were okay :)
All I can hope for now is getting admitted =/

Same here lol. Which classes are you taking? my last two are art and ethics (more work than i thought they would be lol). Ideally all of us will be in
