Hey guys! Is anyone here applying for the Generic BSN program for Fall 2016? I couldn't find any topics for it.
I'm in the process of applying right now and I just took the TEAS V today! I'm content with my score, but I may retake it. I hope that with my TEAS V score, my GPA, and my extracurricular activities combined that have a good chance of getting accepted into the program!
My stats are:
Science GPA: 4.0
GPA: 3.96
TEAS V Cumulative score: 79.3%
Reading portion: 83.3% unfortunately I ran out time on this one and had to blindly guess on two questions!
Math portion: 66.7% such a bad score for me! I had to guess on like 5 questions because I wasn't keeping track of time!
Science: 81.3% I'm so relieved with this score. I was so scared that I wouldn't pass the 62% mark. It wasn't as bad as I thought it would be!
English and Grammar: 83.3 % It was an okay section, a couple of tricky questions. I had like 3 questions on how a word is spelled correctly and those get confusing when two of them look like the right answer!
I would love to hear from anyone else who is also applying for the Fall 2016!
@faerytinkerbelle Your TEAS science score is great! and those volunteer hours are definitely going to help you! I wish I did better on the math portion too. I had so much anxiety during the test that I couldn't even do basic math operations lol
How did you get confirmation that they received your application? through email?
Also, are you guys applying to any other nursing schools? I'm also applying to Nova too. Hopefully I would get into FIU because Nova is ridiculously expensive and the program takes longer!
Thanks, I do hope so too and lol I guess we were both nervous the most around the math part. Your overall grade is really good though as is your GPA. :) really nice. And I got a confirmation via call. Even though I got a tracking number and everything when I mailed it out and saw it was signed for, my paranoid self still had to ensure they received it so I called and left a voicemail and they called me back a few hours later that it did.
I have not applied to other nursing schools just yet.... however it is probably for the best that I do myself in case. I have looked at USF and UCF though. USF does not require any entrance test and their fall due date is not until June so i am thinking about applying there as my backup. UCF has a nursing program for spring instead of fall (the fall deadline passed) but I believe it is 6 terms so I would go for that too if FIU and USF decline me because their deadline is in July. NOVA is expensive lol
Oh it's good to know about UCF having a spring semester. I had to spend all this semester at MDC for no reason because FIU doesn't accept nursing student in the spring semester. I also applied to FAU, but I don't know that they received my transcripts in time for my application to be complete... here's to hoping.
For anyone considering Nova, they have a scholarship available through Baptist Hospital, who will pay for your schooling at Nova if you commit to a couple of years of working for Baptist Hospital, if you didn't know.
I actually attended an information session at Nova for their nursing program, they accept 80 students and 40 of those students would get the Baptist scholarship! I just don't like the idea of having to work for them for 2-3 years.
and I think I may apply to USF if I don't get into FIU! We should find out if we got into FIU's program or not by USF's deadline for the Fall.
Does anyone know if summer is counted as a term for the program? Like if it is fall term, spring term, summer term. Or if it is fall term, spring term then fall term again.
Hi there guys, @SuzetteS I did, I recorded the video on Sunday and submitted the package on Monday. Thank God, I kept checking their website because I didn't know Monday was the last day and I would've submitted it later.
Kinda lost at the moment lol. I got a letter about accepting grants and loans for fall semester, but idk my status on acceptance yet. Did any of you get that letter? Should i accept it because it says i have 30 days to do it.
PS: i got it via snail mail lol so 30 days from the letter is April 30th
Yeah I just accepted the offers now. We very well might now find out until the first week of May, so it's best to just accept the grants now rather than wait
you're telling me!! Thank goodness finals week has been occupying my thoughts lately or I would have popped a vessel by now freaking out over this. It's my only school option left
