Hey guys! Is anyone here applying for the Generic BSN program for Fall 2016? I couldn't find any topics for it.
I'm in the process of applying right now and I just took the TEAS V today! I'm content with my score, but I may retake it. I hope that with my TEAS V score, my GPA, and my extracurricular activities combined that have a good chance of getting accepted into the program!
My stats are:
Science GPA: 4.0
GPA: 3.96
TEAS V Cumulative score: 79.3%
Reading portion: 83.3% unfortunately I ran out time on this one and had to blindly guess on two questions!
Math portion: 66.7% such a bad score for me! I had to guess on like 5 questions because I wasn't keeping track of time!
Science: 81.3% I'm so relieved with this score. I was so scared that I wouldn't pass the 62% mark. It wasn't as bad as I thought it would be!
English and Grammar: 83.3 % It was an okay section, a couple of tricky questions. I had like 3 questions on how a word is spelled correctly and those get confusing when two of them look like the right answer!
I would love to hear from anyone else who is also applying for the Fall 2016!
I think I am just going to ask for my high school to send it to me and then mail it myself on priority; Sending the official transcripts electronically was less reliable than I thought. I dont think it would harm my chances of getting in since I know I completed it and checked it on the application; just need to lavish them final document , but better safe than sorry.
It is so awesome to hear feedback from other students about the FIU nursing program application process. I too applied for admission to FIU BSN program for the Fall 2016. I just received my confirmation email yesterday. I can't wait until May, I am super excited and anxious to hear the results. I hope all of you guys get accepted. Your TEAS V scores and GPA's are amazing. Have you guys dealt with housing as yet or will you be commuting?
@faerytinkerbelle, I hope that gets sorted out soon! That's so strange. I tried to check my status but my panther degree audit doesn't say anything because I'm not taking classes at FIU lol.
and welcome @TaneshaYStBrice! I myself will be commuting because I only live like 15 minutes away from FIU.
@tanesha I will be looking for housing. I applied for MMC's housing already back in March, but I am on a waitlist until openings come. If all else fails with that I will have to start looking for a roomie and rent lol, and you? It would be so nice if i lived in Miami to directly hand it to them, but I am too far so the letter will have to do =/
@suzettesS lol i guess everything's not the same for us for some reason. I am not taking classes at FIU either and thanks :) I am sure it will
@faerytinkerbelle I do suggest you try and apply to off campus housing. I too have been placed on the waiting list since they opened it up. I have constantly been calling house and they keep telling me that no rooms are available. They advised me to find off campus housing because they aren't too sure of when they would have openings. I just applied to 4th street commons that is located right across the street from FIU and I just got my lease and everything situated. I highly recommend you do the same and quickly because housing is really a 50/50 right now and I would hate for you to have no place to stay. I think there is some kind of off-campus housing fair comping up you should try to attend if you can. Just to have a back up plan in case housing that fall through.
@Tanesha did you go to FIU's classified housing? I think i better do that first thing in the morning then you are definitely right lol. How can I look up how close a place is to FIU? Is there a filter on there? I'm lost in that department, and do you happen to have the off-campus fair information? =)
@faerytinkerbelle this is the flyer housing emailed me about off campus housing. I did check out classifieds.fiu.edu but I also googled apartments near FIU. I'm not to sure what you're financial situation looks like but I know that most of the prices that was being shown on that website was way past my budget. So I looked at other websites like craigslist, hotpads, and apartment finder. I actually saw an ad about 4th street commons housing and that just happened to be located right across campus. You can try to give them a call first thing tomorrow but do it quickly because when I was applying they were already 90% full since everyone is looking for housing. I wish you the best of luck!! Let me know how it goes. If I hear anything else I will just leave a comment in the post. :)
@Tanesha the link doesnt seem to work for me thanks for the helpful insight though! I will have a tight budget for housing so I think I will look at the other website you mentioned myself to get the best prices. I googled 4th street commons and found the website so I will be calling them to see what they have available. I will let you know how it went
