FIU AO BSN (fall 2020)

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hi everyone!
This site has been very helpful for me while I worked on my application, therefore, I wanted to start a thread on the applicants for FIU’s fall 2020 AO BSN program. It may be a little early right now, but I would love to speak to anyone who has applied or planning to. ?

Hey!! I am looking to apply to the AO program but I’m wondering what’s going to happen bc of COVID? I know a lot of people haven’t been able to take their TEAS yet bc of closure of testing sites. Anyone know what FIU plans on doing regarding the program for this year?

As of now they still require the TEAS for admissions. A lot of schools are offering online testing and some even have in-person testing as well. The only change they've made to the admission process is the video essay.

Has anyone taken the TEAS exam yet? If so, how long did you prepare for it?

Hey!

I'm planning on applying to the AO track. I'm taking the TEAS on the 26th of June so ill have a month and a bit to study. Trying to aim for the high 80's/90's if possible. Have you taken the exam yet?

I took the proctored TEAS this weeks. I was really nervous about the test so I studied for 3 weeks about 5 hours a days and did both of the ATI practice test. Thankfully I was able to get a 91.3; I hope it’s good enough to get accepted.

Is this enough time to take the TEAS and still meet their deadline? I am signing up today to take the TEAS and I am nervous scheduling so close, but I would like the benefits of an extra week of studying.

Hi.

It’s is enough time with the deadline I took it into account and you would have two days extra incase of problems. If I’m not mistaken you don’t send them the score you just upload a screenshot/pdf of your score report.

I thought the same but wasn't sure. Thank you!

Are you guys and gals submitting any community service hours (if so how many)? I unfortunately don't have any, hope this doesn't hurt my application.

Nope! The only extra thing that I am submitting is healthcare experience. I dont think community service will have a major impact.

I have healthcare-related volunteer hours that I would like to include, but unfortunately this needs to be on company letter head and I am having no luck getting said letter; I don't think I'll be submitting any hours.
