Hi Guys!!!!!!!!!

I Took The Nclex Today And I Don't Know What To Think. Everyone Keeps Talking About Easy Or Hard Questions, And I Couldn't Tell Either Way. My Test Cut Off At #101 And I Am Freaking. I Was Holding My Breath After It Kept Going After 75. But I've Been Told As Long As It Keeps Giving You Questions, You Are Doing Ok. I Didn't Have To Go To 265 So I Hope Thats A Good Sign. Anyway, Since I Took It Today I Have To Wait Till At Least Tuesday Until I Can Find Out Anything. I Hope I Passed! It Would Be Such A Load Off My Mind. Right Now I Just Wanna Scream. Aghhhhhhhhhhh!!!!

How ever it turns out, the world will not end. Worse case scenario, you may have to take it again.

I'm betting you passed.

Keep us posted!

I had 275 questions, and just knew I failed. I had alternate plans and another appilication and after weeks of torture. I passed. give it time, you never know. Everyone told me with 275 questions I had failed and they were wrong. :chuckle I have been a nurse almost 3 years now. good luck to you!

I took the NCLEX on wednesday and I got my license in the mail on friday! I couldn't believe it! I only got 75 questions and I was like you, I couldn't tell if they were high level questions or not. I only had one question that I knew for SURE I had answered correctly - so I was thinking that I had done really badly. It doesn't matter how many questions you got - you would have probably still been left wondering. Hang in there ... my fingers are crossed for you!

Good luck to the OP and tryingtomakeit...congrats!

I wish you success on the NCLEX. I took my on the 14th of June and found out on the 16th of June that I passed. Hopefully you live in one of the states that allows you to get online and pay to find out. I could'nt imagine having to wait four weeks to find out. I did not sleep for those two nights and three days. In the state I reside you can pay online and find out. I had 75 questions and the computer shut off. I wanted to bust out crying and beat up the computer. I thought for sure I failed with that many questions, plus I did it in less than an hour. I also took Kaplan, which I highly recommend to anyone preparing for the NCLEX. They teach you how to answer the questions. I was told if the computer shuts of at 75 then you either did really good or you suck really bad. Those were the exact words of the person I talked with about how the CAT testing works. If you get more than 75 questions then your borderline, right there at the line and the computer is throwing more questions at you to determine your abilities. So with 101 questions, we know your really close to passing and I am sure you passed. A lot of my friends answered 111 or more questions and so far they have all passed. One of them had 165 and they passed. I am sure you passed, if not take the Kaplan Review course, they will supply you with a book and a question trainer that has 1000 questions on them that you can answer and it will score you on how you do. It has 7 tests on them starting at 75 questions and the last one with 265 questions. It gets you used to taking tests. It helped me greatly. I still have the book and CD, brand new edition 2004. I love it. Good Luck to you and post how you did. I am sure you did fine. Just try to find some time to relax in the meantime, which I know is very hard to do. Best wishes!

Im currently taking Kaplan, and while it seems like a great review, i am so nervous about the NCLEX. I take it July 1st. What percentages did you get on the review tests on the CD? I am feeling so discourages cause i have only gotten 60% on the first two!! I am ready to scream! I heard it doesnt matter about the percentages, but what have you heard or think?

Hey Kat 983,

Good Luck on the exam. In the beginning of the Kaplan Review Course we took an exam and I was right below borderline. On the second to last day of the review we took the readiness exam and I scored in the passing range above the borderline range. As for the Question trainer...

Test 1 48% first time..... 85% second time

Test 2 59% first time..... 73% second time

Test 4 62% first time..... 87% second time

Test 5 65% first time...... 97% second time

Test 6 63% first time...... 82% second time

Test 7 60% took only once

Test 3 61% took only once day before I sat for the exam!

I believe you are doing fine and you will pass. The kaplan review course helps prepare you on how to answer the questions correctly, even if you do not have the knowledge base. What you really need to look at is the Bloom's Taxonomy on the application and analysis part. You need to get at least 50% in these areas correct. If you do that then you should be fine. On the NCLEX you need to get at least 50% of the application and analysis type questions correct because these are the critical thinking questions. Just remember to answer them as if you were in the "Ivory Tower World" I am sure you have heard that over and over. Also you the decision tree, it really does help with answering the questions. As you can see with my results above I was a little scared about taking it, but I was told as long as I got at least a 50% or above on the analysis and application questions I should be fine. Which I did pretty well in those categories. Plus our Kaplan Review Instructor was great. I took it out our college here in Maryland. She was a very positive role model. Everyday tell yourself you will pass and believe in it. That is what she told me as well. She even said go to the extent of posting it everywhere, but I did'nt do that.

Don't be discouraged at all. Remember, you know what you know. Just practice answering questions over and over. I am sure you heard you should at least get an overall of 65% and I never did that doing it on my first try. The only reason I did good on the second time is because I remembered some of the answers. I just wanted to practice using the decision tree. It seems to me that you will be okay to take the exam. I believe in the Kaplan Review Course, so I know you will pass!!!!! Good Luck and let me know how you do.:balloons: :) :p :) :balloons: Evelyn

Thanks for this!! It makes me feel better. Do you remember your percentage on the Kaplan Readiness Test? Just curious b/c I am freaking out about a 67% because I am hearing a lot of people getting in the 70's and 80's. Thanks again:)

Hey! The Readiness test that I took did not give me a percentage. It gave me a bar graph that placed me in the passing range and above the borderline range. Which meant that I was ready to take the NCLEX. I did take an ATI examination, which had nothing to do with Kaplan and received a 67.2%, which placed me in the Individual percentile rank in the nation of 86% and 85% in the program. This score meant that I had a 98 to 99% predicted passing rate for the NCLEX. I took that exam before taking Kaplan.

You will be fine with a 67%. Did you at least do 50% or higher on the analysis and application questions? That is the main thing. I know you will pass. Your score is fine. The readiness test should tell you if your in a passing range or not, but with that score you are in the passing range. Just take the exam as soon as you can so that what you have learned from Kaplan on how to answer the questions are still fresh in your mind. I know you will pass! I have faith in your scores! Go take that test and let me know when you when you receive your passing result! You'll pass, I know you will.

My printout was in the passing range (just above the borderline). I mean it was so close I couldnt tell where it was, so I asked the instructor and she told me I was in the passing range with 67%, but that is way to close to borderline. I am taking boards Wednesday and freaking out!! because I was so close to borderline. Thanks for everything.:)
