Terrified of Boards.....

I am awaiting my ATT number from the state of Kentucky. I spoke with them on Friday and they said I should have it by Monday. Then the real problem arises....I am terrified of taking boards. I took the Rinehart review the first three days of last week and felt like a real dummy when I finished them. Some of the stuff they taught us I do not ever remember going over in school. That is what really scares me, will I be prepared to take and pass boards. I have been doing about 300+ NCLEX review questions a day. Help......I feel like I am drowning...:crying2:

I am afraid to take the boards for CNA. I can't begin to imagine the fear of taking this test. Keep a positive attitude and your chin up. Good Luck!:)

Specializes in LTC, ER, ICU,.

i am anxious, too. hope to take mine next month. all the best to you.

I Am Going Thru The Same Thing. I Was Originally Supposed To Take The Test On May 22, But I Pushed It Back To June 19. I Got Cold Feet. My Former Instructor Is Telling Me To Review Somemore, My Co-workers Are Telling To Take It And Get It Out Of The Way, That I Can Pass, And I Am Underestimating Myself. I Am Really Procrastinating With This. I Know I Can Pass But I'm Just Scared. So Far, 10 Of My Classmates That I Graduated With Have Passed So That Should Say Something. But, I Don't Know What I'm Afraid Of.

Help Me..................

Don't keep putting it off. Studies have shown that those who take it within the first 30-60 days of graduating have higher pass rates. You learned a lot during nursing school and you were obviously successful there so give yourself some credit. When you are taking the test, remember that you will probably miss about half of the questions and you will still pass so don't panic if you don't know all of the answers. Get a good review book, go through it and then just dive in and take the test.

GOOD LUCK!!

I agree the thought of waiting scares me more than scheduling the test. Go for it you will do great!

I felt the same way all of you did last year when I took the boards. Just do this: Take time daily to take the test as if it were real. Wear the clothes, have the silence, and do at least 300 questions.

When you take the test, do the same exact thing. Then, although it will be nerve wracking, when you sit, it will be familiar..... trust me.

Wear comfy clothes. It's not the time for fashion, wear sweats and socks and all that. It will be cool. in there. I took a jacket and wore a t shirt underneath. Forgive guys, but girls, wear a bra you don't even know is there. I saw so many people tugging and what not... I wore a sports bra.

Above all, take your time and take breaks when you need them. I am not a math person. You know what, My first question was a formula. No big deal. It's all the stuff, not one thing. Be well. Breathe. Prioritize.....

You are doing too many questions daily. Review two hours a day and 100 questions a day my dear. It is recommended 100 a day for thirty days. That's 3000 questions a month. Now Breath ! :rotfl:
