Hey! I am starting to apply for the traditional BSN/MSN program at Johns Hopkins, and I was wondering if anyone else is out there freaking out about their applications!

Holler back! :nurse:

You may want to ask a mod to move this to the Graduate Student Nurse forum as the Graduate Nurse forum is primarily focused on topics for nursing students who have already graduated from their programs.

You will likely get more responses in the former, that is where all of the past Yale GEPN, Hopkins BSN/MSN and Columbia threads have been housed.

I've only applied for the accelerated BSN 2009 (sent in the app in Sept) - I can't decide whether to go on for my MSN yet! But yeah, fingers crossed for JHU next year.

Are you applying for the one-year or two-year BSN portion with MSN?

Hi,

I've applied for the JHU acclerated BSN-MSN for 2009. Just did my phone interview this morning. I did early decision so I look forward to hearing back relatively soon (Dec 15!). What MSN specialty did you all apply to?

Hi All,

I applied to the BSN/MSN program at JHU for 2009. How was the interview? I have mine this week and I am trying to figure out extra nursing related questions they might ask. Any advice?

Thanks

I'm applying for the accelerated BSN program. I thought I couldn't apply since I wasn't going to finish my prereq till May and since the program is starting in June, I thought that was too late. Apparently it's not! (I found this out last week) I just started and I just got all my recommendations in.

Anyone else applying to the traditional/accelerated program?

waiting on my acceptance letter!!!! woohoo I too applied for the 2009 BSN tradtional. there is an additional thread Hopkins....who else is applying and also check out the blog

Hey fellow Hopkins hopefuls!

Was anyone else on the chat yesterday? They said that they try to have the ED decisions made earlier than Dec. 15 and that we might actually hear sooner (but definitely by Dec. 15)!!

It's getting closer...next week is Thanksgiving, so it will go by fast. Then, we're into December and we will only have a short amount of time to wait. I'm sorry for the people that have to wait until after the new year--that wait would kill me!

Good luck everyone!

What is ED decisions? I applied for fall 2009. Has anyone else applied for fall 2009? I also went onto the website for the hospital and applied for a job there for 9/1/2009 start date in the ER. Any other ER nurses going to be going to JHU nursing school and working in the ER?

Let's chat.

YellowBone, ED is just short for "early decision". If you turned your application before November 1 and requested the early decision option, then Hopkins will notify you before December 15 with their decision. The deal with this is that by asking for early decision, you have told them that JHU is your first choice, and if they accept you then you agree to cancel all other applications with other schools and attend JHU.

Well, that is good to know...I applied to the new online application process the other day. I mailed off my application last week. Guess I missed the "ED" option. Wow, wish I'd known that. So you are going to JHU are you excited?

I hope I am going to JHU...haven't been accepted yet. But I will know by December 15. And yes, I will be very excited!!!

They have a new online application process--wow! I had no idea. When I submitted my application in October there was no choice--you could download the application off their site, but you had to print it and mail it in. Good to know they now have an online process--that would have been easier!

It is very exciting, isn't it? Good luck!
