265 questions, I'm terrified!

Hello everyone. I'm new to these boards. I took my NCLEX last Thursday. I got all 265 questions and I'm freaking out. It seemed like most of my questions were about disaster drills, prioritizing, mostly medsurg and some psych. Also a few community based questions about premenopausal women. I did not study anything about premenopause.

I live in CA so I can't get my unofficial results from PearsonVue. Plus the BON was closed on Friday so that makes the wait even longer. I feel like I'm having a mini-heart attack every minute. I can't eat and can barely sleep. I've checked the CA website about 50 times already.

I just needed to vent, sorry this is so long.

hope you passed/hty.

I just had 265 questions and I passed. Got my results this morning. Ya know, I cried ALOT and drank alcoholic beverages to drown my sorrows. Of course nothing made me feel better. Like everyone told me, don't put the cart before the horse - ya never know. I can honestly say I know how you're feeling right now (very non-therapeutic I know) but try to keep your chin up. Besides you must know that you are close based upon the percentage you were getting. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you.

FYI - if that is the maximum number of questions, the system randomly picks a person to take that many. It is used as a validation tool. I wouldnt worry too much unless most of your questions seemed pretty easy. You are no more likely to pass or fail than the people that get 75 questions.

I hope you passed - but just to stop the rumor - this is not true about randomly being selected to take 265 questions. Don't know if it ever was true, but it is not true now. It's been quoted from the national board of nursing somewhere on this board, and I've seen it printed in other sources (Kaplan for instance). You get whatever amount of questions you need to prove that you either fail or pass with the max being 265. I hope you hear good news soon!!

here's wishing you all the best.

Thank you to everyone for the words of support. I called the BON this morning and was told they don't have my transcripts yet so it will be awhile longer until I find out. I'm just keeping myself in the frame of mind that I did fail it so if I actually did it won't be such a shock. But if I passed then I can feel so much better. Until then I'm keeping my fingers crossed. Thanks again.

I am in the process of taking Kaplan presp for the NCLEX boards in California. My intructor informed us that as long as the computer is asking questions then you are still in the game. Good luck and GOD bless.

I had to answer all 265 and I passed, so don't fret..

Specializes in Medical and general practice now LTC.

In March I also had 265 questions and I passed, will keep fingers crossed for you and hope the wait isn't too long
