Hi everyone! I am taking my first travel assignment in Palm Springs this winter! I will be at Desert Regional December 9- March 8. I'm being given $1100 a month for housing stipend but am having difficulties finding accommodations that are reasonably priced. Does anyone have any ideas or can steer me in the right direction to find housing? Is anyone else going out there this winter and want a roommate? Also, any tips on what to expect at the hospital- orientation, environment? What to see or do in Palm Springs? Any help would be much appreciated!!! :) :)

I was there last winter and my rent for a crappy one bedroom was $1500. Extended stay may be best option if you want to make a profit. But If they do the housing and you demand no hotels they may be able to find you something. It was really hard finding a place there bc there's so many ppl there in te winter, everyone is looking for a sublease! But I worked at desert regional, not too bad, what floor?

What kind of orientation or testing should I expect?

Hey!! I'm heading down there in the beginning of November! Ortho/Spine nights at Desert Regional! Let's exchange contact info!
Also, def check out Craigslist for housing options, especially if you don't mind living with random people.

I was in Palm Springs last winter. Cost of living there is much less than other parts if CA. I liked the little downtown area, some retro type design stores, there's a tram you can take up this mountain where there's snow. I took company housing.
