I wanted to start a new thread since the first round of placements for the Maricopa Community Colleges are soon approaching. Let's continue to encourage each other and keep each other informed by sharing your exciting news about your placement. Since the status page stated that the bulk of the notifications will be from students in the Feb/Mar 09 range, please if at all possible let us know when your date/time stamp is so it can give the rest of us some small indication of where we are in the process.

Hi, im wondering if someone can give me the information I need. Im feeling really lost. I am an LPN and have one class left to finish my prereqs which I am planning on starting in the spring. I'd like to know if I have a wait list to get into an advanced placement program. I got my lpn certification at estrella mountain, however, i can only attend either the part time or weekend program. So if I plan on attending gcc, is there a list i would need to get on? Also, can someone explain to me what hours/days both part time/wknd programs attend school. Any information would be truly appreciated :) Dee
Oct 19 is basically here and Maricopa Nursing District will be placing at least 50 more future nurses in respective programs. At least 50 people have deferred. I wonder why so many people are deferring???
To Deeval, I have no idea. I'd suggest calling the District or visting with an advisor. Good luck!
Yes alot of people have deferred it happens every semester especially after waiting so long peoples lifes change or cant adjust work schedules ect. It would be horrible to wait 2 years to get in and then cant do it. I cant wait to get placed my date stamp is 10/16/09 8:05am. I am hoping for fall placement.
Deeval, You have an advanced placement application to fill out (it's on the Maricopa site). There is not a list like there is for the traditional RN program. They place you based on your HESI-PN scores into whatever program has an opening for Block III. You turn in your app with all your transcripts to the "school of your first choice" So if you need part time then Gateway nights or Glendale Weekends (really Friday and Saturday) all day are our only choices. I was wondering the same thing. It seems like there are more deferrals than usul this time around my I am also time stamped for 10/16/09 and I am also hoping for Fall 2011. I guess you just never know what could happen. Good luck to everyone again today:clown:
What date/time stamp did any of you have that got in today (Oct 19th) after this 2nd placement? I was so hoping to get in but must have just missed. My stamp is 6/16/09 8:04 20.
They don't show you your date/time stamp after you are accepted but mine was 06/09 8:03 and I think 50 something seconds (but not sure exactly on the seconds part). I was accepted into MCC (Banner campus) I think it was my second choice. I put five choices down.
Can anyone out there explain to me why there are still 66 slots opened for Spring placement per white board? Where are these students going? Are they coming off the existing list or is there another list I dont know about?

That is a very good question! I wonder if you'd call the nursing hotline on the front page of the placement that someone would tell you. I called the phone number yesterday and spoke to someone who was SO NICE! She could not tell me the very last time stamp on 6/16/09 that was placed though. By reading these boards I'm thinking they are somewhere in the 8:04-8:05 time area. The lady did say something about the colleges still opening or letting them know about vacancies, so maybe that's where the 66 spots are for. I don't know what all the initials are--one of them is VA, like Veterans maybe? Does the Veterans have reserved spots for nursing students w/ Maricopa Colleges?

How many choices do you have filled out? I'm behind you by 85 seconds on the list, which means 85 people. I'm pretty sure I won't be in till fall now...ugh! I'll bet you'll be in soon!
There are all those slots open because people are deferring or dropping out. Which is good if you have a 6/16/09 date stamp b/c you might get in!!! Fingers crossed :)!
