First Round Of Placement Set For October 5th

U.S.A. Arizona

Published

Hi All,

I wanted to start a new thread since the first round of placements for the Maricopa Community Colleges are soon approaching. Let's continue to encourage each other and keep each other informed by sharing your exciting news about your placement. Since the status page stated that the bulk of the notifications will be from students in the Feb/Mar 09 range, please if at all possible let us know when your date/time stamp is so it can give the rest of us some small indication of where we are in the process.

Thank you and good luck to us all:lol2:

I got in. SCC accelerated! :yeah::D

hi everyone, i'm new here. my time stamp is 10/16/2009 08:02:33am, i got a job at shc and hopefully that will speed up this long and dreadful wait...

gl!! :yeah:

hi camilla,

congrats on getting into the scc accelerated program!

how long have you worked at shc? were you able to get in quicker because you work there? just curious because your time stamp is quite a bit later than the last public time stamp that was placed. thanks! :)

i was wondering the same thing. because the nursing web page, says "the last public placement was from the 6/16/2009 randomization". i know one thing for sure, placement is not based on time stamp, availability or choices, there is something else to it. congrats camilla.

hi peter,

she may not be part of the "public pool"; many of the programs reserve spots for applicants of their choice. i think that may be the case here. i believe shc reserves some of the seats for their employees wanting to attend the program. theses seats are for the scc accelerated program. i believe they are still required to work there a certain number of hours while in the program, and they probably have to sign some kind of contract with shc.

can you clarify for us camilla...this will clear up any misconceptions.

thank you!

camilla's words.

i believe she got in, i don't doubt that, just going by her time line and message posted on nursing web page "06/16/2009". i think time at job , will clarify some other questions others have asked before, about how long to ought to have worked for the hospital to be in such program.

you need to cut and paste into internet explorer for it to work. :)

Thanks Msiegel,

Very helpful. Do you know what the directors choice is all about? Special candidates?lol

Thank you! I started working at SHC 3 months ago as a housekeeper, and yes the wait is a lot shorter for employees. Hard work, but it paid off! :)

There are no contracts. SHC is such a good place to work, no one would want to leave. You can switch to employee status on the Maricopa website as soon as you become an employee; you have to fax SCC a copy of your badge and first paycheck in order to become elegible. As far as working hours, I don't know yet because I still have to talk to my manager. But you are required to work at least 16 hours a week in order to keep your benefits, such a health ins. and retirement.
