  1. Hi katters, I did sign up for the extra classes, although I'm sure they aren't necessary...it just gets me enough credits to be considered full-time, and I'm sure it can't hurt to take them. So glad you got in at the last minute!...you'll get everything done in time, don't fret. :)
  2. Yay for you!! I am also in the weekend program (that starts in one month from today!!) I'm excited but nervous...yikes! btw...my time/date stamp was 8/14/09 and I got in on the first round of placements :)
  3. Hi there, There are two start dates per year; Jan and July. Your best bet would be to contact April Orr at GCC. She handles admissions for the nursing program. I am starting Block 1 in the GCC weekend program in July. Good luck to you!! :)
  4. azgirl84, If you received the immunizations when you were younger you should be fine. You just have to show proof of those shots (shot record). If you do not have the shot records, then you will need a titer drawn up (simple blood draw). That will prove you are immune and will satisfy the requirements for the program. I had to do titers for MMR and Varicella since I had misplaced the records. Hope this helps! :)
  5. Thank you for the great info dee! I am starting the GCC weekend program in July and I still need to get my CPR cert so this is very helpful. Thanks again! :)
  6. I'll be joining you all in July, as well. Seems like we've been waiting sooo long....but it's finally here! Woohoo! Looking forward to meeting everyone!
  7. I just got placed into the GCC Weekend program. :) My timestamp was 8/14/09 8:00:45
  8. nana1525...sorry I didn't respond right away. I actually had 5 choices selected, but just received the letter that I got placed into my first choice, GCC weekend program. I'm so excited! :)
  9. Just curious Nana...which program are you wanting to get into? I figured you'd get into your top choice since your stamp is 2/20/09. Yay for you! :)
  10. They moved placement to next Tuesday March 1st. 15 spots are now available for Phoenix College if anyone is interested in that option. Now we wait for 1 more week...patience, patience
  11. Well, now the wait has just become longer...they have moved placement to next Tuesday March 1st. I guess they added 15 public spots at Phoenix College, so now that's a choice that applicants can opt for. It's good for those who really wanted PC as a choice, but it's still hard to have to wait one more week.
  12. I'm impatiently waiting too...this week is gonna go by SLOW! My time stamp is 8/14/09 8:00:45...I REALLY hope this is it! :)
  13. There is a CNA class in the summer at GCC. The application period is 2/28/11 to 3/4/11. I was thinking I might do that as well. All the info is here... GCC AZ: GCC Nursing Department: Nursing Assistant Program My time/date stamp is 8/14/2009 8:00:45. I am hoping to get in this coming Fall. That means I will have waited 4 regular semesters, not including the summer sessions. Hope that helps. :)
  14. Not sure how you would find that out. I have timestamp of 8/14/09 8:00:49 and I don't plan on AT LEAST Fall2011...that's what I'm hoping for, but you never know. There are still a lot of 6/09 timestamps to be placed, as well as previous timestamps that have deferred that will get placed in the Fall.
  15. I applied in July 09 at GCC and my date stamp is Aug 14 09. It just depends on when you apply in relation to when they process the applications. They process with date time stamps every 2 months: Feb, Apr, Jun, Aug, Oct, Dec. You may squeeze into Oct processing...good luck! :) BTW...my experience was the same as you...I just handed my application to someone in enrollment.
